Nebraska's going to have to do more than that to get in. Beating Illinois, Indiana, Penn State and Maryland isn't going to move the needle for them.

I know the B1G is "down" this year. But you really think they'd leave a team that went 14-4 in the conference out? I guess if they were going to do it to anyone theyd do it to Nebrasketball.

Yes, if Nebraska finishes the season with just 1 top 50 win, they aren't getting in. The 14-4 record is meaningless without context.

I think they need to win out and get to the finals of the B1GT to have a chance. Even then it's no guarantee.

I don't know, maybe, maybe not. It's tough to tell at this point. I think it's probably at 60%-40% in favor of him getting to stay. I'd be curious how much he truly knew about the Lynch situation, because apparently he might have found out about it in October, so still having him be on the team is a lack of judgement. If that's the case, I'd hope he'd be shown the door along with the Athletic Director. We've been killed by injuries this season, having lost McBrayer and Coffey a combined like 15 games, and with Curry being lost for the season, but Pitino put himself in this position by taking on two kids(Diedhou and Konate) that are low major players and taking a transfer from Louisville who averaged 2 ppg and is sitting out this season.

Personally, I'm up in the air as to whether I want him back or not. The only thing that causes me pause is the recruiting class coming in appears to be a good one, with 3 homegrown players.

Yeah, but the difference in RPI and kenpom ranking are pretty large.

Saw this conversation on Tweeter last night after the Nebraska win against Maryland and chuckled in frustration:

"This would have been a Quad 1 win for Maryland. Stated differently: Nebraska at home is a Quad 1 team...

It's weird to be penalized because you didn't beat enough good teams but you are one of those good teams".

Honestly, I'm still surprised that he avoided getting swept up in his dad's mess from when he was working under him at Louisville. Regardless of the talent he may be bringing in, it doesn't speak well to the culture of the programs that he seems to end up connected with--especially in the current popular culture with #metoo, all the celebrities/politicians/executives being dragged down by sexual misconduct allegations, etc.

I haven't looked into what it is, but what might save him for at least another year is what his buyout cost would be.

Penn State up 24 on Ohio State at the half. Bad night for the B1G. This is going to cost these teams a seed line or 2 in Purdue's case probably.

I'll be interested to see just how much the RPI us used because their other rankings are pretty good ( 28 in Kenpom, top 40 in Sagarin ) . This will be a good indicator of how much RPI is used

Yeah, usually if you're good enough to be ranked top 30 on kenpom, you're a lock to make it.

However, the committee has a history of punishing teams with weak OOC schedules, and Penn State's was pretty weak. Only way I see them getting in is if they beat both Purdue and Michigan, or if they win of those games and have a strong showing in the Big Ten tournament. If that doesn't happen and PSU still gets in, that means the committee has changed the way they look at bubble teams.

FWIW, I think Penn State and Nebraska are both good enough to make the tournament, but they just don't have the resumes. The middle of the Big Ten being so down has absolutely screwed over their bubble teams.
