If they beat Wisconsin, they would finish 4th in the Big Ten at 11-7. It would include atleast 3 wins over top 15 teams at the time they played them.

If this was any of the past 3 or 4 years, Nebraska would probably be in right now. But the bubble is pretty strong this year.

2010-11 Penn State (19-14) with no real good OOC wins and a couple of bad losses, picked up 3 wins in the B1G Tourney and a 10 seed in the real tourney. Like Nebraska they had some nice conference wins.

To clarify, PSU was 16-14, 9-9 heading into the B1G Tourney. Their 3 B1G Tournament wins were against a shitty IU team, a mediocre MSU team and the 13th ranked Wisky Badgers (that was the hideous 36-33 nightmare game).

Case in point. There is a logjam of bubble teams.

Gotta go with Michigan's HC Beilein. Lost his all American center early in the year and all he did after that was lead the team to their first out right title in decades, hard to argue with that.

Frankly the Huskers are better off hoping to beat Wisky and have Iowa win out as well. This would get Nebraska the 5 seed and give them a good shot to pick up another win. While the win wouldnt do too much to boost their profile it still adds to their overall record. IF Nebraska beats Wisky I think they are in no matter what BUT if I was a Husker fan Id rather get that win and then get another one after that just to be safer. A win over Wisky and then a loss in the first B10 tourney game makes for a long ass weekend of waiting and hoping.

Really I'm happy as hell to be finishing Top 5 (worst case) considering Nebraska was preseason picked to finish dead last.

Like I said, NIT would be considered success as far as I'm concerned. That was the absolute best I could have hoped for last October/November.

Half a game up on Iowa right now, sitting in the 4 spot. Sheeeeeet, whodathunk?

I hope Nebraska schedules a couple of Big Dogs OOC (in addition to any tourney play) on top of Creighton (don't know if you have Cincy again) next season and gets one of them at the Bank. It'd really help your case in these situations.

Mitch McGary averaged 9.5 PPG and 8 RPG. I'm not sure in what world he's this incredible, All-American, freakish talent, but it isn't this one. Michigan started the year #7. Wisconsin started the year ranked #20. Michigan returned more minutes. Wisconsin has more wins against a harder schedule.

Bo Ryan should be the Big Ten Coach of the Year and it shouldn't be close.

Tim Miles. You cannot seriously argue against him

Returning minutes are obviously skewed because Gasser didn't play at all last year. Kaminsky is really the only player who didn't get major minutes last year. Michigan lost basically 3 first rounders from last year's team since McGary isn't playing. Either way I'd give it to Miles.

McGary wasn't even 75%. His back injury came over the summer and yes, he was a preseason All American.

I think what most people are saying is that Michigan lost two 1st round draft picks and their 2013-14 big man, yet still won the B1G outright (first since '86). Beilein's a helluva coach and develops talent as good as anyone in the country.

Miles and Ryan both have a legit case and it will be close.

I dont see anyway Miles shouldnt win. Nebraska was picked to finish last. Michigan was preseason top 10 and yes losing McGary hurt but they were still a top 5 type B10 team without him preseason speaking. Winning the lague is great but to take a team that was expected to win 3 or 4 league games and have them inches away from a tourney bid is amazing IMO. Id go Miles, Ryan, Beilein if I were voting but 2 and 3 are interchangeable.

I'm not counting chickens before they hatch.

Wisconsin is going to be a tough game. Lose that and they'll likely need 2 in the Big 10 Tourney. Anybody in the Big 10 can beat anybody on any given day.

I will be disappointed in the NIT next season if everybody eligible returns.
