Basketball is different from football in that aspect. You don't have to have overwhelming talent to win, especially in college, especially when the incoming freshman class is the weakest in some time, and the top 20 incoming freshman spread out where they chose to go to college. It really set the stage for upperclassmen teams to dominate this year. That's why I don't think its surprising to see teams like OU, Nova, Iowa, WVU, Kansas, UNC, Oregon, UVA, Miami, Iowa State at the top of the polls. Teams that have to rely on significant contributions from underclassmen like UK, Duke, California, LSU, Ohio State, FSU, Washington, have been extremely inconsistent for the most part.

Iowa is really good, don't get me wrong, but they picked a great year to have probably their best team ever.

3rd youngest team in D1 over here!!! Problem is we ain't UK or Duke so can't reload with the loss of Ellenson. SMFH.

Wisconsin has the longest winning streak in the big ten now. Meanwhile MD is no joke and should be the toughest challenge of the year on the road this week. Again, all UW has to do is beat the teams that we will be favored against and they make the tournament with 10 big ten wins.

Agree, terrible last few minutes. If Iowa would have hit some FTs, This would have had a better ending for the Hawks.

Gessell is kinda a shitty PG in the final minutes when you need 3s.

He always looks to just drive cuz he isn't a shooter when you need 3s.

Yea, never been a huge fan of Mike Gesell. He runs the floor well, gets a lot of assists and is a senior, so there's that, but when the game is on the line he's terrible at the line and doesn't hit clutch shots.
