Two new pitches? I'm not crazy about the idea. This whole time he's been on the phantom DL list and on rehab assignment needed to be spent figuring out what has been wrong with his old pitches, not trying to learn new pitches. Get the issues with the old pitches figured out and then work on new pitches.

At any rate, I hope McCann is catching tonight.

Cutter and curve ball. He said he thinks part of his problems were relying only on the 4 seam and sinker. He stopped throwing the curve a while ago and the cutter is suppose to replace his slider which he also has t thrown in a while

Nothing we can do about, hope for the best I guess. He's a little too old to be adding new pitches mid season though IMO.

But we are facing Joe Ross, who I had no idea was even still in baseball.

Stroman would be a good get. I'd rather have Bumgarner, but with the Giants playing themselves right back into the playoff hunt, I doubt he'll be available.

Stroman is having a really good year on a terrible team.

Giles would be an improvement over what we have, but I wouldn't be excited over him. The Astros pretty much dumped him in favor of a convicted wife beater last season.
