I've never been able to understand how a pitcher can be so dominant and then just lose it in the blink of an eye.

Nah, his stuff is still awesome, he just can't locate his pitches anymore. If the curveball is working, he can't throw his fastball for strikes, and if the fastball is working, his curveball is all over the place. Gotta be mechanical. He'd better figure it out.
