Willie D is no Mike Johnston, that's for sure.

Actually if there was a chance the dog might pass over the weekend I'd do the same thing. Being in the room when Rocket was put down was absolutely terrible but I had to be there for him. I'd happily accept any punishment I was given and wouldn't fight it.

100% agreement.

Taking a team that was expected to bottom out into the playoff race and you think he's close to being out of the league??

That man's getting an extension.

It was just a marketing stunt, so I'm not going to get too excited. That said, there were some serious omissions and in some cases, guys included mainly because they were part of Stanley Cup championship teams.

Somebody would have to come up with some pretty good evidence (aside from Stanley Cup Championships) to convince me that Jacques Lemaire and Bob Gainey are better players than Joe Thornton and Jarome Iginla.

I feel like Bob has ridden "The Soviets thought he was great!" to heights I wouldn't have thought were possible.

Since I haven't seen him mentioned (but I know he has been thought of) I'll bring up Malkin as well. I don't understand what the argument against him is.

The other thing that should probably be pointed out when discussing this list is that based on the selections (for instance the absence of guys like Newsy Lalonde and Joe Malone) it seems like this list was only taking into account actual NHL play. Which is just fine (since it is their list), but it means that items like "OMG Triple Gold Club!!!1!11!!1!!!" can't be used in the argument.

So Snoop Dogg's "DJing" at the skills competition has to have caused some FCC violations, right?

What a maroon.

So, how about Mike Smith, eh?

Yeah, Mike Smith's shot and the shootout goal by Ryan Kesler's son were probably the highlights of the night.

I think overall the action was kind of slow... just a lot of time waiting to start each skater in the events. I thought it could have been 30 minutes faster without so much waiting for the ref to blow the whistle and would have been more entertaining.

Also, these NHL 100 commercials are just so good. Liev Schrieber should forever narrate all things hockey.
