That Dan Gilbert, what a cheap ass.
well then i will give you the field- and ill have the Cavs to get out of the East. If you think so much can go wrong and is going wrong for the Cavs what is the problem?I wonder what the Warriors title chances were last season. Obviously they were favored because that's the only way.

I like to see how the season will turn out. I don't get a hard on for preseason rankings like you. But then again, my team's been there and won. Yours hasn't, so you still have to learn apparently.
As Trojan stated, Heat fan Big 3 era mentality was championship or bust, regardless of any circumstance.
Wiggy mentality is clearly focused on beating the Heat and winning the East.
Did you even READ my post?
Apparently the distinction is lost on you as well- which is fairly surprising seeing as how the Lakers were in tax payer territory from time to time.
Please....Tell me what you continuously fail to comprehend about this SEEMINGLY very simple point-
WHEN YOU PAY A PLAYER MORE THEN HE IS WORTH- THAT BEGINS TO CLOG UP YOUR CAP- WHEN YOUR SALARY FIGURE GETS TOO HIGH- YOU LOSE FLEXIBILITY IN HOW YOU CAN BUILD YOUR TEAM AND YOU LOSE WAYS TO ADD TALENT TO YOUR TEAM.
As I said above- if you are more than 4 million over the Luxury TAx line- (the tax "apron") you cannot execute a sign and trade. If you are over the tax apron- you can only offer a "mini" mid level exception instead of a full. There are other exceptions and what not also avaliable that are beyond even my comprehensive understanding of the agreement. OR- if you can get just a LITTLE under the cap- you can execute transactions like this: "NBA -- How did the Cleveland Cavaliers get Timofey Mozgov?" When the Cavs turned PRACTICALLY NOTHING- just a TINY BIT of cap room and some 2nd round picks- into a trade exception that was used to acquire Mozgov.
Are you REALLY suggesting- that Gilbert- who offered Thompson 5 years 80 million and was fully prepared to walk into this season with the HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA (if Thompson took that deal) - is refusing to give in to Thompson just to save dollars on his bottom line? --- Your saying the guy who is willing to spend more than ANYONE ELSE IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE- is causing Thompson to hold out because he is letting MONEY dictate what he does? Do you realize how unbelievably ridiculous and illogical and contradictory that sentiment is? Someone needs a visit from the clue bird. LOL

its EXACTLY what I said. This is not what you said. You said that Gilbert would pay whatever it takes. Just because you're changing your story now that you realize that you were wrong, doesn't change what you said. No one is buying your bullshit. We all know what you said.
its EXACTLY what I said.
Dan Gilbert has put his money where his mouth is and is putting out a team salary that the Buss' have never touched.

That Dan Gilbert, what a cheap ass.
he hasnt signed TT because TT wants max money and he is not worth max money. He wants to get paid like a top 20 player and hes not a top 20 playerThen why hasn't he signed TT?
The Cavs offered TT $80 million over 5 years. TT wants $94 million over 5 years. You said that $14 million over 5 years wouldn't stop Gilbert from signing him.
Unless TT has secretly signed and the Cavs are just trolling everyone, it looks like Gilbert is letting $14 million over 5 years stop him.
Again, no one is buying your bullshit.
"I like to see how the seeason will turn out"
of course you would- so would EVERYONE before making a better
what you are really saying is "I dont have the ball to make a bet right now- mostly because I know your right and no one in their right mind would bet against the Cavs Winning the East."
he hasnt signed TT because TT wants max money and he is not worth max money. He wants to get paid like a top 20 player and hes not a top 20 player
and NEWS FLASH- when you pay a guy as a top 20 player, and hes NOT a top 20 player- and you play in a league with rules that limit your ability to add to your team depending on how much you spend- YOU JUST DONT GO OUT THERE AND SPEND STUPIDLY.....well unless you are the Knicks and Nets...then you can spend whatever and go on sucking forever....
Dan Gilbert is cheap?
I googled "cheap arison lebron meeting" and got the following tidbits:
From the Lawrence: Heat must remember the Alamo
"
But only James lived up to his billing in the Finals. Wade fell off a cliff in the series and his future is something that concerns James and Riley. Bosh was also ineffective in the last three blowout losses, even when he had matchups in his favor.
In addition, the Heat bench proved far too thin to secure the three-peat. But it became that way because Riley was under orders from the top to make moves to save Arison from taking a $15 million luxury tax hit. So when the Heat allowed Mike Miller to leave after last season, that was costly, especially with Wade’s gimpy knees and sudden decline."
From NBC Sports : Report: LeBron James, annoyed with Micky Arison, not ready to commit to Heat
"LeBron James reportedly doesn’t want to take a salary cut in order to save Heat owner Micky Arison money. That’s apparently not a new concern.
It’s been festering.
The Heat paid the luxury tax the previous two years, and they’ll pay it again this season. But in the last year, they’ve really dialed back their spending.
If the Heat had spent more to build a deeper team, maybe they’d be NBA champions – and not waiting on a mum LeBron."
- They amnestied Mike Miller.
- Instead of using a draft pick to upgrade their roster, they used it as a sweetener to unload Joel Anthony’s contract.
- They didn’t use the mid-level exception, their primary tool for adding another rotation-caliber player.Miami has allowed its roster to stagnate and age, creating a lack of depth really showed in the Finals.
I would be pretty upset if there was direct evidence from reputable news sources that my BILLIONAIRE owner who convinced the best player in the league to take a PAY CUT to save himself money- played a role in that player leaving and my team going from the Penthouse to the Outhouse.
he hasnt signed TT because TT wants max money and he is not worth max money. He wants to get paid like a top 20 player and hes not a top 20 player

The Cavs and Dan Gilbert have shown they are willing to spend at a pace that no one in the league has seen even touched outside of the Russian in New Jersey- but they arent going to overpay guys and hurt their ability to add talent to the team just because a guy wants to get paid more than what he is worth.
Hyde: Micky Arison needs to pay Dwyane Wade for past sacrificesThat Dan Gilbert, what a cheap ass.
Hyde: Micky Arison needs to pay Dwyane Wade for past sacrifices
wow..here is another one from the Dave Hyde of the Miami paper the Sun Sentinel...READ THAT...lol...Turnup would shit a brick!
Or are players the only ones asked to sacrifice?
There's a way out of this, as you'll see, but this ugly bit of business between the Heat and Wade brings the sort that cast it in a rare and questionable light.
The buck doesn't stop with Riley on this. If so, the buck never would stop. It's not his money. Riley, for instance, would have spent more than $17 million two summers ago to keep Mike Miller and keep LeBron James happy.
Arison said no. Plain and simple. You can understand Arison's thinking. Miller wasn't worth close to that figure, which was the cost of his contract plus luxury-tax dollars. Every owner, no matter how rich, wants a return on investment.
That wasn't the only time they based decisions on money recently. The Heat also didn't use a draft pick to upgrade the roster, instead using it as a sweetener to ditch Joel Anthony's contract in 2014. And it didn't use the mid-level exception to get a decent role player before LeBron's final season.
This is the most illustrative though and the most true:
Don't read this wrong. Arison wasn't cheap by any stretch. His teams were over the salary cap and into the luxury tax three of the four years with LeBron. It's just LeBron expected great spending to match his great talent.
It was not that Arison was "cheap". Its that LeBron expects a commitment from an owner equal to his commitment on the court- and he has that in Cleveland and he did not have that in Miami.
