No one PM'd you? We have you fighting Wiggy this spring. So far, you seem to be the odds on favorite and some of us are betting pretty heavily on you.

So don't fuck up.

Seriously Sixers?!?

Report: 76ers execs believe Joel Embiid needed 2nd surgery because he didn’t wear boot enough

Joel Embiid suffered a setback with his surgically repaired right foot in March, which put the 2014 No. 3 pick in a walking boot.

In mid-June, there were conflicting reportsabout Embiid’s need for surgery. One said it was being discussed. Another said it was unnecessary. Nobody reported that it was inevitable.

On July 11, the 76ers announced Embiid would undergo surgery within 7-10 days. Thirty-eight days after that, he actually did.

Brian Geltzeiler of The Cauldron:

The simple task of getting Embiid to consistently wear his walking boot was a challenge for the franchise, and multiple sources suggested that some people in Philadelphia’s front office wonder whether a second surgery would have been necessary if Embiid had worn the boot as much as he was told to.

Also, according to multiple sources, Harris did not want Embiid to attend the annual Las Vegas Summer League this past July so they could proceed with the surgery on his navicular bone. Brown and Hinkie were both given strict instructions by Harris to keep Embiid from going to Vegas, yet each of them put the onus on the other to handle the job, and neither did.

Embiid was determined to go to Vegas to party for the balance of the 10 days of summer league. While Embiid was in Vegas, he was mandated to wear the walking boot in advance of the second surgery, but Embiid not only refused to wear the boot, but he carried himself as if nothing was wrong with the foot, shooting jumpers and even occasionally dunking.

If you’re a Comcast subscriber in Philadelphia, you can stream tonight’s 76ers-Wizards game here.

This isn’t the first report of Embiid being difficult during his rehab process.

The 76ers took a big risk picking Embiid, who hurt himself prior to the draft. For that to pay off, he must get healthy. Right now, it’s not even clear he’ll be ready to make his NBA debut at the start of the 2016-17 season.

It’s understandable that Embiid, 21, wouldn’t always follow strict protocol. He’s young, a new millionaire and unable to play. The ingredients are there for distraction.

But this is the last season his contract is guaranteed. Philadelphia will almost certainly exercise his third-year option, but after that, who knows?

The team needs to reach him. He needs to worker harder at getting healthier.

It’s in everyone’s best interest to do better, though that has been the case for the last year. Will it happen before it’s too late?

I do not condone hitting women, nor have I ever done so myself, but I'm also not going to judge someone from the outside because we don't know what the relationship's like. The reality is that some women like to push buttons, LAD and Mecca don't strike me as that type but we've all met crazy women.
You're correct...LAD doesn't hit people because I don't like to get hit.

So Lebron had to take an injection in his back today and is out for the preseason. Season is starting to unravel before it begins. But yeah, the Cavs have the ultimate lineup. lol

The season is unraveling because LeBron is being held out of the rest of the preseason?

The health of the Cavs isn't exactly going swimmingly... but I think that's a stretch.

Why are you trying to change then discussion? You said Gilbert would never allow money to be an issue. Yet, TT isn't signed because of money.

Some bullshit lecture about whether or not spending money impacts more than just a teams wallet, doesn't change the fact that you said that what we are seeing would never happen because Gilbert didn't care about the money.

You even bragged about how much luxury tax the Cavs will pay.
Did you even READ my post?

Apparently the distinction is lost on you as well- which is fairly surprising seeing as how the Lakers were in tax payer territory from time to time.

Please....Tell me what you continuously fail to comprehend about this SEEMINGLY very simple point-

WHEN YOU PAY A PLAYER MORE THEN HE IS WORTH- THAT BEGINS TO CLOG UP YOUR CAP- WHEN YOUR SALARY FIGURE GETS TOO HIGH- YOU LOSE FLEXIBILITY IN HOW YOU CAN BUILD YOUR TEAM AND YOU LOSE WAYS TO ADD TALENT TO YOUR TEAM.

As I said above- if you are more than 4 million over the Luxury TAx line- (the tax "apron") you cannot execute a sign and trade. If you are over the tax apron- you can only offer a "mini" mid level exception instead of a full. There are other exceptions and what not also avaliable that are beyond even my comprehensive understanding of the agreement. OR- if you can get just a LITTLE under the cap- you can execute transactions like this: "NBA -- How did the Cleveland Cavaliers get Timofey Mozgov?" When the Cavs turned PRACTICALLY NOTHING- just a TINY BIT of cap room and some 2nd round picks- into a trade exception that was used to acquire Mozgov.

Are you REALLY suggesting- that Gilbert- who offered Thompson 5 years 80 million and was fully prepared to walk into this season with the HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA (if Thompson took that deal) - is refusing to give in to Thompson just to save dollars on his bottom line? --- Your saying the guy who is willing to spend more than ANYONE ELSE IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE- is causing Thompson to hold out because he is letting MONEY dictate what he does? Do you realize how unbelievably ridiculous and illogical and contradictory that sentiment is? Someone needs a visit from the clue bird. LOL

You will probably have to get used to this delusional thinking and hatred from HEat fans like this guy...The season is unraveling- yet when I just checked the odds to get out of the East it had the Cavs paying 1-3 to win the East.

THINK ABOUT THAT MAN.

This guy is saying the season is beginning to unravel- but the Cavs are OVERWHELMINGLY favored against the ENTIRE field. The next closest was Chicago at 15-2.

We are just TERRIFIED as Cavs fans arent we? LOL How is LeBron EVER going to get passed the Bulls? How about that 37 win Miami team? How the heck are the CAvs going to deal with that in the playoffs (if the Heat make it). The Hawks!!! 18-1 to win the East!!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED! lol

Delusional would best describe Cavs fans right now. Kyrie's out until January and Lebron just had to take an injection in the back in the preseason. Says a lot about where his health is at considering you'll probably be riding him throughout the playoffs. You will probably make it to the Finals, I would hope so having Lebron on your roster in the East. But good luck with the team that will come out of the West.

What is the point of playing? According to Wiggy, Vegas odds are always right so why waste everyone's time?

We were favored to win the title every year of the Big 3 era. But I guess Vegas is always right.

I wonder what the Warriors title chances were last season. Obviously they were favored because that's the only way.

He absolutely let 14M over 5 years dictate what he was willing or not willing to do, which is exactly what you said for weeks that he would never do.

Nobody here ever suggested or implied that he was worth the 80, let alone the 94M because he clearly isn't.

And as far as you throwing out cap numbers and future cap, save it.
That's what we were trying to explain to you, but when u thought Tristan was locked in, you told us numerous times that the Cavs didn't need any major future additions or cap space.
You said they were good, as is, for years, then listed the ages of the players under contract.

25-1 entering season

Man, I would've hated to see the odds for the 2nd team. Seeing 25-1 for the team favored, wow! Oh wait, you mean the Warriors weren't the odds on favorite last year? Gasp!

But every Wiggy thread gloats about Vegas having the Cavs make it to the Finals. I guess you have to hinge on anything you can if you're a Cavs fan.
