Durant: "I don't talk to Stephen A Smith at all. Nobody in my family, my friends, they don't talk to Stephen A Smith. So he's lying."

What's the best way to attack those because I know you're not naive to think these won't be popping up throughout the year?

Durant: "If you ask me a question, I'll talk about them. But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything and I know for a fact they didn't talk to him, so he's making up stories."

Hrmmmmm......things not so great in Cavs land.....

I am glad the Cavs have not caved.

Its not the dollars. IF Thompson accepted the CAvs 5 year 80 M dollar offer the Cavs would be paying EASILY the highest Payroll in the league --- WAAAAY HIGHER than the payroll points where Arison bitched out with the Heat....WELL beyond anything LeBron has been a part of before.

I am thinking of the previous Cavs playoff teams and this roster is freaking SO DEEP compared to them. They are AT LEAST two deep with a very solid backup at EVERY position except maybe SF (and Shump and Smith can def play there here and there)

PG- Kyrie Irving, Mo Williams, Matt Dellavadova (that is loaded)
SG- Iman Shumpert, JR Smith, Joe Harris
SF- LeBron James, Richard Jefferson, James Jones
PF- Love, Thompson
C- Mozgov, Varejao, Kaun

Its the flexibility and long terms need of the roster that are making the Cavs hold a firm line. They just dont believe TALENT WISE he warrants a top 20 contract in the entire NBA and I gotta say I agree with them. The money is not the factor- the factor with the money is the fact that its tied to long term flexibility- and at the offered 16M a year he I think is already getting a GREAT deal.

I totally understand the Cavs not wanting to pay this guy nearly 20M a year- and as a top 20 player- when he is NOT that type of guy. When you start SIGNIFICANTLY overpaying multiple guys on your roster- it all of a sudden becomes VERY DIFFICULT to build a roster. Shit- 16M- a year? Good for Thompson- he bet on himself and won- and is getting a 5 year 80 offer. The Cavs are not going to hamstring their flexibility by giving Thompson a top 20 player deal when he is NOT CLOSE to a top 20 player. SHIT- he would be making MORE than Kyrie.

Take that shit somewhere else.

When you THOUGHT otherwise you said DOZENS of times that money would NEVER be a factor in any roster decision because Gilbert was unlike any other owner.

WE (all the other regulars here) stated to you exactly what you are trying to backtrack and say now.

 @ the Cavs doing this shit again:

The Cavs spent Friday removing Thompson’s likeness from any signage that adorns Quicken Loans Arena, as captured in a tweet by Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Chris Haynes:

Please tell me what part is not 100% true in that post.

The facts are that Thompson was offered a 5 year 80M deal that would make the Cavs have a payroll that is FAR BEYOND ANYTHING the Buss family has EVER DREAMED of paying for a basketball team.

Are you suggesting the Cavs pay someone OVER what they believe they deserve JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN when it restricts what they can do going forward?

Sell crazy somewhere else. The facts are that the Cleveland Cavaliers are loaded- and are loaded because Dan Gilbert has stepped up to the plate to pay a team payroll that other owners would only DREAM about.

And that has what to do with you telling us 100000x times that money would never, ever, ever, be a factor in any roster decision made?

You cited Arison as pissing off James because he wouldn't overpay Miller, which was not true.

In this case, Gilbert might just actually be dumb enough to piss James off over 'one of his boys.

If that ends up being the case, I can't wait until next summer, cause we can all anticipate what will happen.
