Its really hard to know what his market value is, because he is a restricted free agent. So far no team has offered... but how much of that is because they know the Cavs will match? Its impossible to say.

True. What's surprising to me is that no team has even offered him just to make sure the Cavs have to overpay him by matching. Maybe because they know they don't have to? Maybe because as we move farther away from the finals, teams have calmed down and realize that he isn't worth what he's demanding?

Who knows? Teams have staff who analyze stats after the fact. Maybe they've realized that TT is a 10ppg, 10rpg guy who isn't worth $15-18 million?

The best Thompson could do this year in restricted free agency if another team signed him is a 4 year deal worth 70 million. Thats the BEST he could do under the rules.

The Cavs have no interest in going over THE BEST THOMPSON could do with another team under the rules.

Didn't he turn down an $84 million offer? If they have no interest in going over the best he could get with another team, then why did they offer him $84 million and why does he think he can get $90 million?

well all i can say is that if you believe that Thompson and even Love only played power forward last year- you are 100% completely and totally wrong. ESPECIALLY in todays modern NBA with small lineups, spacing, shooting, and how valuable it is to have a big man who is good at defending the pick and roll..

of course- you are a Lakers fan and have bee nwatching the archaic Scott run a team like it was the NBA 15-20 years ago so I guess I can see where you fail to see how the NBA is changing- all though man--- if you would have watched the playoffs or the Cavs regular season at all- you would have seen the ample time that both Thompson and Love played together.

how the hell are they are on the court togeteher over? LOL they both play PF!!! how is it possible?!! is it against the rules?! lol....

unreal. its just so ridiculously stupid and ignores the reality of the situation that played right out in front of your eyes.

Wow, your dumbest post on the subject yet. They are both PF's and that is where they will play the vast majority of their minutes. Therefore, the Cavs will be tying up nearly $40 million in 1 position. TT playing a few minutes Center every now and then in a "small lineup" in no way justifies tying up that much money in 1 position. The fact that you think otherwise further proves that you haven't got the first clue about basketball.

LOL, the Heat organization without Lebron is still worth more than the Cavs with Lebron. How fucking pathetic is that for the Cavs?

Just shows what a shit hole Leaveland is and what a p.o.s. franchise the Cavs are. They have the best player in the game and a "lottery team" is worth more than they are. :pound:

Right..and James doesn't play PG 80% of the time?
I guess Kyrie shouldn't be allowed on the court with him?

Learn the game.

Teams can play with 2 PF's, 4 G's, 2 C's...or whatever the hell they want to do..
As long as the player count doesn't go over 5, it's all good.

Yeah, didn't the Suns just try a 5 point guard roster? :heh:

youve been with your fiance for 6 years and have not yet tied the knot?

I proposed this past February (at our 5 1/2 year mark). We'll probably get married sometime next year. I'm not the type that rushes into anything.

Shit, I'm going to start mentioning that the next time Wiggy keeps calling the Heat a lottery team. Which is still ironic given how they got to where they are.

Since your team has had a new owner the Lakers have been the definition of a "POS franchise"....and you STILL owe your first rounder next year to the Sixers that will likely be a top 10 lotto pick. Poor management at the top has done the unthinkable- made the Lakers a 2nd class team in their own building. -And with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan (any 3 would EASILY be the Lakers best player), an owner that paid 2Bill for the team and is the OPPOSITE of the previous Clippers owner who was cheap and bigoted, and a coach comparison of Doc to Scott- that WILL NOT be changing any time soon. :pound:

Who would have ever thought the Clippers would be a perennial contender while the Lakers were scrapping the bottom of the NBA barrel year after year.

Might want to win at least 1 championship before you start talking down to other fan bases, just saying.

And the Lakers are still worth more than the Cavs and still have 16 more championships than the Cavs. Your best team ever, with the best player in basketball and Leaveland is still a shit hole and the Cavs are still a piece of shit, ringless franchise.

Sorry the truth is so painful for you.

Why does it say Heatles when you actually quoted Wigg?

This, pretty much. I'm pretty new here but the fact that Wiggy talks so much shit to other fan bases and his team doesn't even have a title is hilarious. Hell, I could go off and talk shit about how dominant the Spurs are going to be since they have LaMarcus Aldridge now but all that would do would make me look ridiculous, because nobody has a clue what's going to happen. If you're basing your insults off what you think is going to happen (cause you clearly can't tell the future,) it makes you look dumb. Sorry, but it's true.

Just count the rings, man.

Lakers - 16
Cavaliers - 0

As the Lakers know very well, it is insanely hard to be good all of the time. They still have good pieces to rebuild around in Randle and Russell.

As the Cavaliers know very well, it is insanely hard to suck every year. Every now and then you have to stumble into contending. That's what happened when Lebron was drafted and then again when he was signed back from Miami.

The difference is the Lakers have 5 rings to show for the Kobe era. The Cavaliers have 2 finals losses and a grand total of 0 rings to show for the Lebron era. Lebron left Cleveland because the franchise is a joke. He came back because he felt bad. Face it, the best player to ever be born in Ohio and raised as a Cleveland fan knew he wasn't going to win any rings in his prime in the shithole known as Cleveland so he went to Miami so he actually had a chance. You're a delusional troll and you need to stop drinking the kool aid. It's unbearable.

Something that kills Wiggy on this inside. Lebron spent his best years in Miami, just to get away from Cleveland and win. He knew if he stayed in Cleveland the whole time, he'd end up being in the same class of Malone, Barkley, and Ewing.

Funny how predictably everyone talks about the past- no one questions one bit if what I said was true because they all know it is true. Sure- talk about the passed championships- etc.- i know that stuff- i know you know that stuff.

that does not change one bit the correctness of my original comment.

Stop acting all high and mighty until you win a title. The cavs very well may this year, or they could crash and burn in the playoffs. Until then, you have no idea if the cavs have the cajones to win a title. You remind me of a poster from ESPN that was always hyping the rockets when they had tmac and Yao. He was always this confident that the rockets would win a title with those two and they never did.

You know why Clippers fans don't trash talk Lakers fans?
Easy answer, because even though they are better right now, when they take down the Lakers banners for their home games, what's left hanging?

And, for some fan bases ( we all know who they are), we know our championship chances will occasionally come around. True fans can enjoy their team even when a championship isn't a realistic goal, because we know from past experience that we can still be very good and lose, and still be entertained during those seasons.

On the other hand, Cavs fans haven't had any championship hopes for decades when James wasn't on the roster.
The preseason conversation is " do you think there's a chance we'll make the playoffs"?

As I and others have pointed out, your savior is 0-8 there, and left there in his prime to learn how to wn here.

If by chance he brings that back 'home', you guys should be praising and thanking Riley/Spoelstra for teaching him what it takes to get over the hump and designing the best formula on the court for him to be successful.

It didn't take James very long to scrap Blatts system and go back to what had worked here.
