So did the Cavs use their MLE on Mo? Or just sign him, I thought they had to use it on him but I could be wrong.

I responded to this:

Your inability to be even slightly objective re: the Cavs is pretty ridiculous. You come off like a 5 year old talking about how he can beat up Superman.

I responded to someone else saying something about not having Lebron. So I didnt bring it up, when you are wrong you try to defend it. Just admit it like a man. It's not a big deal lol

they used part of their tax payer mid level which i believe is 3.3M...so they have a portion of that left to basically sign a 1.1M player- probably a ring-chasing vet for depth i would think.

Cavs had the best record in the entire NBA after they made the 2 trades in January. After that point they rolled the West to the tune of a 15-1 record (only loss OT @ Houston). With the development and steps up KI and Thompson, and Delly made last year- combined with Love/KYrie/LeBron all working to get on the same page- the Cavs did not have to make one single move besides retain the team they had to be favorites to win it. Adding Mo helps- and getting Varejao back helps, and they are not done yet.

Their is a reason the Cavs were the best team in the league from January on- they were deep and extremely talented. The only thing that can derail them is bad luck. The Heat and their fans are insane if they sit hear coming off a year they couldnt make the eastern conference playoffs and try and say they are legit contenders. the Heat are NOT legit contenders- not until they prove that they are more than a lotto team without LeBron. Period.

I'm still waiting for the Cavs to prove that they're legit contenders without Lebron. Never have been in their entire existence, and won't be afterwards either. The Heat were plagued by injuries, but you like to ignore that narrative. Also, Bosh and Dragic didn't play 1 NBA minute together either. We'll see what happens, but Miami likely ends up somewhere as a 3-4 seed.

Things change from season to season. Other teams have re-tooled and have gained more experience (look at Spurs and Warriors respectively). We'll see how the season goes.

just saying- before you declare yourself contenders to a team that played the best basketball in the league the 2nd half of the year- dont ya think ya could put up a couple months of a record of .500? I mean- 37-45 does not scream to me "contender"- and I am sorry if I have doubts that Chris Bosh takes you from a team that is 8 games below .500 to contender status. Just saying- lets see you guys play .500 ball for a while before you anoint the Heat as anything more than a mediocre team. Deal?

I responded to your post. You, as usual, missed the point and tried to deflect to something else. It's okay, we expect that from you. It's why my analogy fits you perfectly.

Bosh was out 30 games due to a blood cot. I'm sorry facts are what they are. Boring ****.

Well.....when you factor in injuries to Deng, Wade (hamstring, not knee related), Dragic came in at the deadline (after Bosh was diagnosed with a blood clot), then add in Winslow who looks to be in the rotation. Miami *could* contend for the East. I still put them as a 2nd tier competitor to the Warriors and Spurs, followed by the Cavs. Once again, you seem to grasp the simplest of concepts. Miami was injured throughout the year and couldn't stay consistent with their lineups, that affects on-court chemistry. I don't know how you could have a debate on what a title team looks like, considering the only time Cleveland has seen an NBA title is when the other team is holding up the trophy.

You're a moron if you are just using last season as your reasoning.

I agree we shouldn't be viewed as title contenders, but you can make very reasonable discussion for top 4 in the East.

Then, its just a matter of who is healthy and rolling when the playoffs come around.

And, as far as 15-1 records and all of that other stuff, it means ZIP as far as what's going to happen when it matters.
I cringed during the Heats 28 game winning streak, a year we did NOT win the title.
I knew what the Hawks were doing last year was most likely fools gold.

How about UNTIL Love and Kyrie can PROVE that they can make it through a 100 game season they are no more then a pair of players who need to buy a lot of suits?

Maybe they can sign Mason Miller in case his dad blows out his elbow wiping down James?

ohh ok...the Heat had injuries... during the year "Wade was as healthy as he has been in years"

somehow the Cavs managed to fight off LeBron missing the most games he has ever missed, a new coach, Love's recurring back injuries, 2 major trades, losing Varejao in early December- and still got the 2 seed and all the way to Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The Heat couldnt get passed the Celtics and Nets.

I am sorry- but the Heat are going to have to prove that they are not an also-ran lotto team that they sure looked like last year without LeBron. Wade/Dragic/Whiteside LOST GROUND to the freaking Celtics and Nets and Pacers during the last 6 weeks of the season. If those 3 cant play better than the Celts and Nets- there is no way on Gods green earth that Chris Bosh and a rookie transforms them into anything the Cavs and Bulls should be concerned with.

Id take the Bucks roster over the Heats in a second--- and the Wizards, and Pacers with George back are more on the Heat level.

How about you wait to declare Kyrie someone who can be relied on in June until he can actually play all of the games on the schedule?

I'll bet you right now that the Heats season extends longer then the Bucks...

What's the bet?

For the Heat to really make the jump to the next level, Wade needs to not feel the need to play PG very often when Dragic is on the court.

THAT killed us is many of the games we blew late in the season.

You act like winning the East is some great accomplishment. The Heat didn't lose ground to shit. Once again, let me know how the Cavs look when you take out Kyrie (oh that actually happened during the Finals), their 2nd best player during 30 games and I guarantee you that the Cavs don't look as impressive. That's what Bosh means to the Heat. On paper, Miami looks good, and once again, for the last time Dragic came in late in the season at the trade deadline. The offense we ran didn't meet the personnel, which is something that's being changed.

The Pacers just lost Hibbert and David West. I seriously question how you think they'll have a better roster than the Heat. Paul George is a great player, but he's not going to carry them to the playoffs alone. The Nets are in a similar position where Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are aging and are stuck in idle going nowhere.

Miami's not the clear cut leader in the East no one has said that. But last season was an aberration. Many have cited why Miami missed the playoffs, and there's plenty of article detailing why:

Miami Heat injuries: 2014-15 lost to Wade, Bosh, Whiteside issues | www.palmbeachpost.com

The last one is even more telling.

Injuries starting to derail Heat - Hot Hot Hoops

The Miami Heat are a very good team and a possible championship contender, but only when they have the entire lineup at our disposal. Without their star players and role players, the starting lineup is below average, especially in an improved Eastern Conference. It's time to face the fact that Miami is without the luxury of LeBron Jameswhen Wade finds himself sidelined and in turn the Heat don't have enough to make up for his loss. As someone who's dealt with injury, I recognize the mental toll it has on an athlete while they struggle to return to their sport. Unfortunately, even when they do come back to the lineup it's often without their prior chemistry and cohesion.

Miami's situation parallels that of a struggling boxer. In a fight the fighter spends the entire contest trying to set up the perfect combination to end their opponent . At this time Miami has a solid one two punch combination, but are without the knockout blow. If they're unable to rectify this in a timely manner, it will no doubt spell doom for this team.

Uhh..why? lol
They dont need to prove it, he is their best player. Miami didnt make great moves when he was there other than some MLE or older guys. It's revolves around Lebron, Lebron is the centerpiece. All they need is 1-2 more guys and their roster looks just fine comparing with the other teams at the top.

When you have 3 players that take up the entirety of the salary cap, you're really limited in what you can do. They added Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, along with Shane Battier and Birdman. The Heat went to 4 straight Finals and win 2 titles. Please tell me more about the Heat not making good moves again.

Cavs fans are like Oh nooooooooo Deja vu with Mo Williams. LBJ wanted him last time. That didn't work out and both are now older. I don't see this ending well.
