I wonder what they do with Deladova now.
I suppose they have to pay him as well now big bucks.

Are they going to take another 3.5 times salary luxury tax hit again for what could be 3rd string.
Mo Williams and Kyrie both completely suck ass at defense, so its a difficult question.

Can they survive with horrible PG defense...or do they pay a small fortune for a 3rd string PG.

That's what I meant when I said I'd reserve judgement until we see a finished project, but even that can change in Feb.

Not every player can pretend to be happy, not play, and cheerlead like Miller does.

The rotations will be interesting to see.

IMO, the one player they really need to keep, and then hope he stays healthy is Verejao.

Cavs need...

healthy bodies...

as we've already seen, when they have a shortage of that, they seem to run out of gas. just sayin'...

as for DEFENSE, no team wins shit without it...ESPECIALLY in the playoffs...

Of course and the Cavs have defense and offense. They have two defensve specialties so it's always a good thing when you have guys like that. And they are getting guys for depth for the obvious reason of injuries.

As much as people rag on JR. He shot good last season, he is streaky (streaky then most) but he still puts up numbers. Everybody just remembers the Finals, he played great before that. He wont have to score like he had to with a 6 man rotation. If you dont have pressure on him, seems like that would be the way to go. That being said I wouldnt pay him over the 7-8 mil.

But, when James has all of the options there it forces him to do less trying to keep them all involved.
If they are hitting, great, if not it's a huge problem.
This year, James could just go as hard as he could for as long as he could which kept them in it for quite awhile.

That's the dilemma of having James.

AND...let's not forget to add another year onto his frame. we could very well begin to truly see the point of diminishing returns for LBJ...

Especially at the 4-5

Especially at the 4-5
I hope you just meant to type something else.

Who is playing good defense at the 4 for Cleveland?? You cannot be that much of a homer.
Aldridge is a mediocre defender, but he looks like Charles Oakley compared to Love/Thompson.

Your starter Love totally sucks beyond belief at defense.
Your Backup Thompson is a horribly bad rim defender who is just merely okay at other things.

Mozgov is a decent defender at the 5. I like his defensive game.

I hope that was a typo.

Why would fans care??? Nobody likes Gilbert, the fans want to see them win. This has no relevance on anything considering the core is young and signed long-term, except TT isnt yet.

Congrats man we know you hate Lebron, get over it. He came back to win a title for his hometown, simple as that.

You still don't see the relevance if you don't win this year?
I think not being able to add cause your already over the next projected threshold when everyone else can add iis very relevant.

As far as winning for his hometown , yep he wants to win there or anywhere else he might play, that's totally different though then WHY he went back.

.It probably all depends on what Durant does. (east or west)

Given enough chances, Cleveland will likely fall into one or more championships.
The West teams are better, but they will bludgeon each other up one of these days in the playoffs.

There is nobody in the east that is remotely ready to prevent the Cavs from getting back a few times.
If Cleveland is never challenged in the East, they will eventually get a title.

But, if Durant goes to Washington for example....all bets are off.
The Wizards would have a younger more talented core with cap space and an extremely desirable city.

The "Summer of Durant" will make "the decision" look like small potatoes since everyone will be able to afford him instead of only 3 or 4 teams.

JR Smith shot good last season? He made 41.7% overall and 38.3% of his 3-pointers. That's not good, that's below average on the overall FG % and slightly above average on the 3-balls.

Just cause you put up numbers does not mean it positively effects the team while shooting 39-41%

OKC model- 0 rings...

Cavs model-0 rings...

Sixers model-0 rings since the days of Moses and STILL no visible sign of when they'll EVER make anything RESEMBLEING a playoff run. Currently with more bigs on their roster than they know what to do with...

Well there ya go. Teams have gotta follow "the model"...if you want your trophy case filled with cobwebs and dust bunnies...

Only reason Cleveland is a legit contender is you throw Lebron on the team. Take him off (with just about any other team honestly) and Cleveland is just a middle of the pack Easter conference playoff team.

yah....i have no lue why he acts like paying the tax is this negative thing---- i think its amazing that Gilbert is willing to go above and beyond to try and wina title. Good for him. You pray for owners like Gilbert.

I puked a little in my mouth. That's like saying we should hope there would be more snuff films being made.

i mean i forgot- who have the heat signed this offseason that wasnt t on their lotto team last year? Any three point shooter? havent theey all signed else where? it seems that mickey is rather tax averse to say the least...of course that is one of the reasons bron left

Arison is paying the tax right now - has been every year since the new CBA. Something Gilbert is finally learning how to do.

Miami Heat, Pat Riley in tough spot vs. NBA salary cap - Sun Sentinel

Also, you apparently don't watch any of the Heat games. But this team was injured most of the season last year. You know, the same excuse Cavs fans use on why they lost to the Dubs.

That's the dilemma of having James.

It's about having more depth. So when injuries do come up it is still like they are almost at full strength. It mostly helps in the playoffs when the main guys rest. It doesnt make James do less, it gives him more rest especially in the regular season. So he can go hard deep in the playoffs. He really hasnt had a team very deep before in his career. He either had no help, good help but no much depth, or injuries have been a concern.

actually no. these last COUPLE however, yes...

it's ok to admit it, Shane. father time in undefeated. even El BeeJay is not gonna beat him...

Well we saw how he played throughout the playoffs. If he is on a team that actually has great depth, the sky is the limitation.

You must only watch Spurs basketball or are just trolling lol. Varajeo when healthy is a very good defender. Mozgov is a good defender and rim protector. Thompson is a little undersized but has good length and can switch on the perimeter. Love isnt much of a defender, but I will take 3 out 4. Thompson doesnt have to be a rim protector.
