thats fine if you guys dont think its worth tanking for a top 3 pick and its better to win 35 games.....to me thats a waste- but then again i did ssee the Cavs use that same strategy to build their team and OKC build their team....it will be interesting to see how it works out for the Lakers and jjust how many games they win- no reason to get personal about it....geezz!!! lol

I totally get it-

what i am saying is that there is no way on gods green earth you are making the playoffs this year- so what is the difference between 11th in the West and 14th- and you should try and keep your #3 pick which is a HUGE potential asset - especially since if they sign FA's next offseason the pick you send to the 76'ers could be like #15 or worse.

To me- its worth it to try and get the 3rd pick this year because you are not making the playoffs anyway. That is all I am saying- I know that the Cavs and OKC would try and get that pick- the 76'ers would-----if the Lakers dont- thats fine- I just dont agree with the strategy of not trying to get it.

Because the likelihood of them keeping the 3rd pick isn't a for sure thing. They have the pressure of being in LA and showing that they're competitive. They do have a lucrative TV contract with Time Warner that they have to live up to. Putting a shit product on the court like the 76ers do every year doesn't help. Besides, they pretty much got a good core of rotation players now in Bass and Williams now locked up.

I just do not see the benefit of being 11th in the West instead of 14th if it possibly costs you a top 3 pick.....

I like monta but he's never really been a winner. Matthews has been very good the last couple years
Yeah, Mathews has been good the last few years as the third option behind a very dynamic 1/2 punch. Now he's going to have to be a 1 or 2 scorer and he will not look that good. I caught a lot of blazer games last year and he will suffer without a player that can get to the basket at will. He got a lot of good shots because Lillard was collapsing the defense. He's not a shot creator and I don't see anyone on the mavs who will be able to create shots for him. However, him, Parsons, Dirk, and DJ on the floor at the same time is a PGs dream. Maybe Harris can become the comeback player of the year with all of this shooting on the perimeter and DJ in the post. It will be an interesting year for the Mavs.

Mathews has also never been a winner either.

i think mathews is tough and clutch though--- and i mean- dirk, parsons, jordan should get like at least 15 or so points a piece you would think or close to it....i actually really like the Mavs last year and think they could be 4th in the west behind gsw, okc, sas who are without argument the top 3

Harris is 32. And his per 36 minute numbers translate to 13ppg and 4.7apg, not that great.

That's why I said comeback player of the year. He's been awful recently. So much so that they might start Lin instead.

I don't think they are realistic contenders, although I could see them finish above okc.

Yeah, let's just agree to dissagree?

If I have to agrue in favor of the Lakers any longer, I might end up losing my lunch.

Dallas is top 6, easily.

But, I like the Griz too.

I say:

1. Spurs

2. Thunder * if healthy*

3. Warriors

4. Griz

5. Mavs/Rox

6. Rox/Mavs

7. Clippers

8. Nola

If they can bring back JR and a wing they would be deadly. I wouldnt like Crawford and JR playing together though, that is a walking disaster.

Are you implying that the Cavs have ever intentionally tanked since 2010?
