From what I understand, HE reached out to Riley, not the other way around.
Why's he calling Riley if he's not interested in playing here?
Yeah I read the same thing.

tobe honest I think Aldridge sounds like he wants to be talked into going to the Lakers- but the first meeting really freaked him out....why else schedule and attend a 2nd meeting? that seems really strange- unless the Lakers are just acting out of desperation.
Not if they win championships, it could change their image. If Kyrie stays he will be there for another 10 years. Not comparing anyone to MJ, but players and championships change franchises. Not saying it is going to happen, but it is something positive.
at the VERY VERY VERY LEAST - Thompson would have gotten 12 if El Aminu and Amir Johnson are getting 12M a year and Robin Lopez might get freaking 15.Trick question.
Obvious answer is no, because it increases your chances of winning now.
Fans don't care about luxury tax. They just want to win.
However, if you don't, you're in trouble moving forward because even when the cap goes up, you'll have no available space to add anything.
the Celtics have the most storied history in the league and they are one of the very very very very worst at signing anyone in free agency. Tell me the last significant free agent left some where to go to Boston....never happens.Really?!?
The Bulls had never won one until they won 6 in 8 years. How many have they won since?
The Mavs had never won one until they beat Miami in Lebron's first season. How many have they won since?
The Rockets never won one until they went back to back when MJ retired the first time. How many have they won since?
The Warriors are in what most would consider a great place to live. They won in 1975 and it took them 40 years to get their 2nd one.
Should I go on?
Doesn't seem like winning championships changes images all that much.
Absolutely is not happening.
Gilbert's an ass. The city is not a desirable place for NBA players to live.
James is the current attraction.
These guys love South Beach.
I truly think that's why Aldrige apparently wants to play here vs San Antonio.
you really think the Cavs should have let go of Love or Thompson?
I don't think Riley is that dumb. I like Aldridge but I'll never do that.
is it a fact that the Heat drafted 10th overall since they were an Eastern Conference playoff team? Or am I just whistling dixie out of my ass?
Really?!?

thast the thing though-letting go of Thompson didnt give you 16 million to go looking around free agency- just LeBron/Love/Kyrie take you out of that.....It was either pay thompson or let him go for nothing.Yes. Not because they can't play, but because that's just too much money to tie up in 1 position. You're either going to have a guy coming off your bench that is making $16 million or one coming off your bench that's making $20 million. What Thompson brings can be easily replicated with 1 or 2 guys making less, imo.

I mentioned MJ, he changed the franchise. Never said anything else, not the same example, just saying things change. What if Lebron becomes the owner. Do you not think players wont want to play under him? You're crazy.
