You've written novels about what great signings the Cavs made, which all included Tristan.
Then we expose your idiocy about Dragic, and all of the sudden Tristan isn't worth it?
This isn't MLB where any player can get paid any amount.
You can't look at like if James makes 20, Dragic can't be worth 18.
It doesn't work like that.
Riley wants to win now, and to win, you need an elite PG.
He got the one he wanted.
You have to pay him ( and he was nice enough to forego 20M, which is fact).
End of the day, a player is worth what the team he plays for is willing to pay and that's typically based on need. Players who many/most get max deals or paid more that their perceived value because they fill a need a team has. The bigger the need, the bigger the deal. The Heat needed a top tier point guard. They got one. I guarantee, if the Lakers hadn't drafted Russell, they'd have been trying to get in front of Dragic with a max deal.
Only place this seems to be different is Cleveland, where they think tying up $36 million in 1 position is a good idea.
