The replay of the call on the third down hold (justified) against the Lions showed a solid illegal hands to the face missed too.

Well that was quite the turn of events with the flag being picked up followed by the brutal punt. Detroit might as well have just gone for it on 4th and 1 instead of faking and taking the penalty if they knew the field position would have been almost the same after the punt.
