The fact that they didn't toss him made the game a lot chippier than it needed to be. It was it's usual level of chippy before that, but after? Ramped up. The Ravens took a lot of personal fouls and seemed to relish it. Gosh that team grinds my gears. I think it's the purple. The angle of that hit that really ticked me off is the one where he's complaining to the ref (guess he thought he was held?), turns and sees the pile and sprints over to chop him from behind. Going for the knees in general isn't the greatest, but for a guy that's engaged? After forward progress? From behind? Come on man. Don't you have some shrimp to catch?

More fun note: Ben with back to back 6 TD games, setting a two game record for TD passes. And that's after a pretty rough first quarter. Really, after the first, the offense just rolled. Outside of the one possession where they gave up three sacks in a row (yeah...really), they kept him clean. It was an old school Ravens-Steelers matchup (can it really be old school when they've only been around since like...96 or something?). Heck, James Harrison was an impact player. Dude looked like it was '08 or something.

I wouldn't have batted an eyelash if the player that came flying in and tried to end that guy's season was wearing a #24 NHL jersey.

That hit was ugly. I think Blount gets a bad back injury if he hadn't turned to the side just before contact.

I'm fairly certain in rugby Suggs would have taken an offside penalty, since that probably would have been considered a maul, and especially dangerous entering from the sides or offsides maul entries can be carded, as well. In football, though, that's more the equivalent of a chop block, I think, which is a penalty, obviously, and also hurts a lot, also obviously.

Of course, there are probably a lot of NFL fans who thought it was legal, necessary, and "good football," and are probably making poorly-conceived jokes about having players play in skirts or whatever they say...
