Kids need to be dribbling growing up. It needs to be a muscle memory thing before they enter high school.

My kid's coach (Ex D2 college coach) makes them dribble as hard as they can for 10 minutes on each side. He want's to hear the ball hitting the floor as hard as possible. Obviously they won't be dribbling that way in a game but it teaches ball control with the ball bouncing back so fast. It's a hand eye coordination.
