Caps don't have any banners up in the rafters that other teams don't have as well (save maybe that undeserved retired number for Yvon Labre). Pens have all their division banners draped atop their barn as well.

It was indeed. The 1 lurker that never posted but gave BS ratings to everything had a soggy vag but other than that it was fun. I agree with you in the Tampa thread I'm not sure the action will be there

I hope we win the Cup. Got as good a chance as any of the teams remaining. This series' win still a big deal for the future in terms of outlook and team mentality regardless of how deep the Caps go the rest of the way. In some ways, good for DC sports just in general.

The talking heads were saying this was the Caps cup and they could let down against the bolts but I'm a glass half full kinda guy and I see it like the weight is lifted and they will be free and easy playing and am looking forward to hopefully a great series

I think you could see a let down in game 1 (especially early on) because of that, but not for the series. They are hockey players and this team has shown great resiliency. On the other side, getting back some starting players is going to be an emotional boost, so that works in our favor.

For my 71-year old father who was there at the first Caps' game, I hope they win the Cup. I also won't lie and say it isn't a satisfying season even if that doesn't happen, I think mostly because my expectations for this team were the lowest I've had in nearly a decade. But their mental toughness and the mix of vets/youth has been fruitful so far.

Let's hope Holtby and the D keep playing like they have been and that it continues.

Pens fans sure have been cool in this thread. I guess when you win as much as they do an occasional set back is easier to take. Still it's appreciated.
