Can't see the Pens dropping this game at home, even in the face of elimination. Sully is 4-0 in these situations. But I'm nervous AF.

Their defense needs to step up and they need to figure out a way to get goals without Sid & Horny on the ice. Kessel & Letang will likely remain the weakpoints but hopefully they do just enough to keep from giving up the puck too much. Also, can the real Matt Murray please stand up?

A). the intended and initial point of contact was below the shoulders,
B). Jake was decelerating,
C). He didn't leave his skates and drive through the head.
D). This wasn't the second game in a row with a questionable hit from Jake
E). Jake does not have a history of borderline hits, fines, and suspensions.

Those may be important mitigating factors.

Good points. I saw on the edge, but not suspendable. Especially given #5. In any case, it'd done and on to game 6...

Still a game time decision.

Backstrom has a history of being a yes when a game time decision and is one of the most reliable guys in the league for starts. I'm guessing we'll see 19 on the ice tonight. Watcha think OV?

With a win tonight, the Caps would also be at 8 wins in 10 games.

I think the Caps' key blue liners deserve a lot of credit these playoffs and especially this series. Carlson, Niskanen, and Orlov are all averaging over 25 minutes per game, all doing an outstanding job (+6 overall despite facing top units), and all contributing on the offensive end and in the transition game as well (5 goals and 20 points).

At the other end of the ice, I think Justin Schultz has actually had a pretty nice series, but Dumoulin and Letang have been somewhere between middling and awful depending on the game.
