Here's the hit, Guentzel on Carlsson. Hard to see if he clipped his jaw. Looks like maybe some helmet to helmet. When I saw it live, I thought maybe rib injury but they are saying concussion.

I can only find that one angle of the hit, and from that angle, I can't even tell if there was any contact with the head (maybe after Getz was wedged between Carlson and the boards). Getz did come in full bore on an unsuspecting player, but he did not leave his feet, so charging maybe?

I think the momentum of the hit and the fact that Carlson was unsuspecting it, caused severe whiplash of Carlson's head into Guentzel's helmet. If there had been contact with the head as part of the hit, you would have seen Carlson's head initially snap to the right, not the left.

Putting Vrana with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov was a great adjustment they look good together.

It took trotz almost 5 periods to see top line DSP didn't work. Great adjustment, but it was so obvious and it took him forever to implement a change.

Burakovsky is the softy this team needs out there. Vrana's not ready.

I don't know how anyone can say anything definitive of on the Carlson hit, the one angle available doesn't show anything conclusive.

When I first watched I was looking at where Guentzel's shoulder made contact. But now that I look again, it does seem like their helmets clank.

No clue how the league considers helmet to helmet contact... I suspect if that's all it is (ie no other angle showing shoulder to jaw) then there will be no discipline.

OV being selfish and not letting us see overtime again. Jerk.

Overall it was a pretty incredible sequence. Dumo alone in the slot could've won it, then Caps go the other way. Just wish Letang would've made a bare minimum attempt to pick up a man.

For comparison, earlier in the game, Sid pulled Holtby way out of position and tried to find Schultz for an open net. But Orlov (I think) made a great block because he was, you know, playing defense.
