Obviously that was in. One of the loopholes in the rules of hockey

I love the NHLs standards of conclusiveness. Can you imagine if NHL officials presided over criminal law?

Prosecutor: "As the security videos clearly show, the defendant shot the deceased in the head, thereby murdering him."
Judge: "Do you have an image of the bullet in the head?"
Prosecutor: "Well no, your honor... we have video of the bullet entering the head and exiting, so..."
Judge: "But no still image of the bullet IN the head?"
Prosecutor: "...erm, but, you see, the skull is opaque, so really, there's no -”
Judge: ”inconclusive! Case dismissed."

But in all seriousness, between the two reviews and the Wilson hit, Pens didn't get any breaks today. It happens. If not for Murray, the two reviews might not have mattered.

Between Malkins absence and Kessel clearly not himself, Pens are a one line team right now... They need 71 back or Brassard to step up, or something from the fourth line. But right now, looks like a pretty close series.

Who cares? You lost - deal with it.

Well, we are not as accustom to it as you Wiz fans. Maybe you can help us out.

Tell us, how many series do you have to lose to a team before you are filled with hate and get pissy? Is it 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8?

Boo fucking hoo - whiniest fanbase in sports. Go cry on the shoulder of your fat wife.

Who let this bitch in anyway. This was a friendly joint.

I would advise against holding my breath.

As long as he keeps his shifts reasonable, I should be okay. If he gets hemmed in the zone for 3+ minutes, call a paramedic.

We all grew up watching local hero Fred Rogers. He didn't teach us how to trash talk.

From The Post:

The NHL’s Department of Player Safety is in the process of reviewing the collision closely, a league source told The Washington Post. Since Wilson was suspended twice this preseason, he’s considered a repeat offender, which could lead to harsher discipline if the league decides Sunday’s hit warrants a suspension.

Whooops... real-time update:

Watching the replay a few times this morning I can see it both ways. Per the rule, he's already in his checking position and League Rule 48.1.iii factors in “whether the opponent materially changed the position of his body or head immediately prior to or simultaneously with the hit in a way that significantly contributed to the head contact.” At the same time, he leans into it ever so slightly and also, he's Tom Wilson.

Good news for the Caps though.

No hearing for Wilson. Does that mean no suspension? Or just nothing more than one game?

My issue with the hit is, what was his intention anyway? If he had been trying to skate around Dumo, fine, maybe this is accidental. Like Steckel on Crosby, which never really bothered me.

But it really looks like, at best, he was planning to hit him from behind. Once you choose to hit an unexpecting player illegally, I don't think the honus should be on that player to "not move his head suddenly".

If Dumo missed significant time, this hit could be a series changer.

Yeah, it means no supplementary discipline (fine, suspension, making him walk around in front of the arena wearing a sandwich board saying "I check too hard and dangerously sometimes", etc.).

The new Tom Wilson hat trick - a preseason suspension, a regular season suspension and a post season suspension.

/I can't wait until he becomes a Duck

Well he was obviously planning to hit him, but it looked like he was coming around to get him on the shoulder. Otherwise he wouldn't have gone around to Dumoulin's right side.

But then OV came in and delivered a big hit to Dumoulin, and a dirty knee-on-knee to his own linemate.

I'm working on my Tom Wilson song (with apologies to the Barenaked Ladies):

Drove my elbow through the head
of Brian Dumoulin
Just to see if the league would
Suspend me

Call it impulsive, Call it compulsive
Call it insane
But when I'm surrounded I just can't stop

It's a matter of instinct
It's a matter of conditioning and a matter of fact
You can call me Orlov's Dog

Sound the horn and I'll salivate
How'd you like that
Dr. Recchi tell me you're not just a pedagogue

'Cause right now I'm skating hard
Doin' Tom Wilson things
Well I'm skating hard
Doin' Tom Wilson things

You know good and well that if a Pen did the exact same thing to Niskanen or Orpik you and other Cap fans would be just as angry and spouting conspiracy theories.
