Kessel looks off for one simple and obvious reason: it's a very different experience playing with Sheahan and Simon than Malkin and Hagelin.
The goal was disallowed because of the parallax angle, but if we're going to throw out angels because of math, then we should be using math to incorporate other information to infer whether plays were goals or not. The puck was traveling from in the net to ourlt of the net when the parallax still was taken, so you know it was farther on the net than that immediately before. It could be confidently inferred it was a goal. But from an internal consistency perspective, use all the math and geometry, and use it quantitatively, not just some of it.
