Titans have made some real good moves on paper, I hope they pan out. Would like to see a new team take over that division.

From 1999 through 2011 the Titans had seven winning seasons/playoff berths. During that period the Titans had three 13 win seasons only New England,Indy and Tennessee had more than two.

From 2012 through 2015 the franchise faltered due to two reasons. One they picked a bad GM Ruston Webster that couldn't recognize talent and Two they drafted a bust as the franchise QB Jake Locker.

In 2015 Webster finally made a good decision draft wise when he picked QB Marcus Mariota then a year later in 2016 a new GM Jon Robinson was hired.

Sure 2012 through 2015 sucked but i can't complain especially looking at hapless franchises like Cleveland,Buffalo,L.A. Rams, etc. that go through decades of mediocrity.

In 2016 the new GM/QB first year together the Titans put together a winning record 9-7 nearly winning the division.

2017 they will do even better as we will soon find out.

We all wondered who would challenge the Pats in the AFC, think we got the answer. Titians made some good moves this off season.

You think the titans are going to challenge the pats in the AFC? They need to make the playoffs first and win a game they have not done since 2003.

History isn't a preview of the future. Titans got a decent QB, maybe the best OL in the league ( according to pro focus), a really good RB combo in D. Murray and D. Henry, drafted the highest rated WR in the draft, signed a proven high quality veteran WR, drafted another highly rated slot type WR in the draft to go along with R. Matthews and T. Sharpe. Improved their D with FA signings and draft.
I like what I see. You should to.

Titans made the postseason in 2007 and 2008. From 1999 through 2011 they had seven winning seasons and were one of only 3 teams to have 3 different 13 win seasons. In 2011 and 2016 they had winning seasons both years but didn't make the postseason. 2012 through 2015 was the longest stretch the team has went without a winning season since starting as the Titans in '99.

Also i went back and did all teams records including Titans from '99 through '16......

blah blah blah..

Ok, but so what? You are 1-4 in conference games and 0-1 in Super Bowls. That's New York Jets territory.

And as far as Decker. He is a 30 year old receiver coming off two surgeries, one of them hip.

He's a good pick up if you are looking to fill out your depth chart on a flyer. But not sure you can count on him.

Tennessee has no postseason experience. Mariotta has none. There is no way a first year playoff team(this regime) is going to beat Tom Brady, Big Ben, KC, even Baltimore if they get there in January. They also lost to the raiders last year might I add who also bolstered their passing game with Cook. Maybe they are ready to be a playoff team, but expecting them to win 13 games with Pittsburgh, Seattle, Arizona, Oakland on the schedule is a stretch. Murray(only 2 games really) and Decker are not enough to get experience. I expect KC, Pittsburgh to challenge. Oakland will need a bye to get to AFCCG, and if Indy gets back to being a playoff team they have a better chance at the sb than Tennessee because of Luck's experience. In the weaker NFC experience may not matter as much(if you have a high seed) but it does in the AFC. Talent alone does not win playoff games.

I guess we will see if a first year playoff teams actually make the AFCCG over those that have been working towards it recently.

Without any deeper analysis I assume AFC picture will be this
1.NE
2.Oak
3.Pit
4.Ten

6.KC/Ind/Cin/Bal

Broncos are 170-118 in that stretch, not 160-128. Just an FYI, pro-football-reference.com can do this for you.

Gonna be a tough division. A mediocre division. But a tough one.
