Believe me, I'm sick of hearing about how many INTs are NOT Carson's fault....... BUT, in this case I think it's true. Arians immediately alluded to it after the game. The receiver was supposed to cut on that INT - Palmer read it correctly and threw it correctly. Maybe that's why he wasn't penalized by PFF?
But then again, he may have very well been penalized for it. He was a -1.1. He had other good plays as well including the first pass to Floyd that went off Floyd's hands even after being bumped by Newman. And the hot read to Fitz. They went with the hard count and Palmer had the DB's jumping all over the place showing exactly where the blitz was coming from. He probably got positive points for that as well. And then he had a few other blunders as well that he assuredly got docked for, including a couple of other near interceptions.
End of the day, the overall grade is given with all the good and bad considered. There is subjectivity, but there is also a LOT of objectivity. They have the luxury of also watching 30 other QB's over and over under the same exact situations all season long for multiple years. I think it's fair to say that they have very good judgment - and probably the best of all public information - of many of these positions on an equal scale for everyone.
