How many resumes get tossed in the round file because the name sounds "black" or "Hispanic"? How often are people profiled simply because they are a different color? Way too many ( verified by several scientific studies and news stories).

And actually there are PLENTY of people who get jobs because they are white. It's one of the dirty little secrets some want to have stay under the rug they sweep it under.

They seem just shocked that we could actually have improved as an offense this year and could actually be carried by the offense every now and then. I think that will be the key to the season. We know the defense will likely be good. Can the offense continue dictating the game on their end? If they can average mid 20's without defensive scoring, we will be fine.

24 points is the magic number. Average 24 a game on offense and this team will be hard to beat. Carolina almost got to 23 and they were #1 offense last year.
Also the health of the Oline is critical. Can Okung play more than 12 games. Has never played 16.

I've argued all off season that it's not an unreasonable expectation that the offense improve. If I turn out to be right there will be no living with me!

The history doesn't change the fact that there is still a long way to go in the effort. Just because some progress has occurred doesn't mean we should just stop striving to things better.

When we reach a state where color and appearance make absolutely no difference in how people are treated, then we can sit on our laurels. Until that happens there is work still to be done (and the US still has a long way to go to get there.)

Saying "hey we have come a long way and should appreciate where we are" is only half the story. Yes celebrate the victory of how far we have come but also understand there is still plenty more to do. I can't get half way done with a project such as say I carpet half my house and say "look at the great job I've done maybe I should just stop and be happy with only half a room carpeted."

Again I ask the question...How else would you rather them get the point across on some of the social injustices going on in our country that you wouldn't find as offensive but would also get the same attention?

Just saw this. To compare what Kap is doing, surrounded by teammates, limelight,etc to those that risked a beating or death while being surrounded by a shitload of people that back then could give a rat's ass if you died or not is beyond ridiculous. Some of you are so fearful of looking like a racist, you actually insult the race with the carp that you post. Embarrassing.

Just saw this. Not even going to even try and say how embarrassing this post would be to the majority of A A that risked a beating or death to " stand " up against discrimination. I swear, some of you try so hard to not look racist, you actually insult the race.

Mexicans people that were born in Mexico . I love Mexican people by the way I plenty Friends in Idaho . And several that have bought huge amounts of my berries and vegies they I have become close to .
