As far as him not running right away. Did anyone not see that Gomez said "I thought it was going to be caught?"
I think that would be a worse reason for not running. Now his own team gets to bark at him LOL

I don't really have a problem with showboating. Nor do I have a problem with an opponent verbally lashing out at someone who showboats.
When it gets physical, that is wrong since someone could die from a baseball or blow to the head, I mostly blame whoever is the aggressor in taking it beyond words. I mostly blame Gomez for starting it today. In the brawl with the Braves last year I mostly blame McCann even if he technically didn't take the first swing.
i agree going on beyond words and getting physical is a little too much for me. but a little show boating i have no problem with

Well sort of. I didn't like Nyger Morgan when he was a Pirate. :)

But if Gomez was a Pirate I would be totally fine with that, he is Jose Tabata with actual talent.

Side note I am surprised Morgan excepted his assignment to AAA with the Indians.

Just a few years ago the Brewers had both these guys. Nyger Morgan was funny but kooky as hell. He actually had one pretty good season with Milwaukee but the guy is a little meshugenah. Listening to Carlos Gomez talks he comes across as the most polite, sincere , soft spoken man but piss him off and someone else pops out. Dr. Gomez and Mr. Hyde.

But people here are saying he was admiring it because Gomez thought it was a HR.

He's saying just the opposite.

I have no problem with Gomez showboating, and I have no problem with Cole saying something to him. They're competitors, and that's part of competing. But each side got their shot, and that's where it should have ended.

Sunday they are giving out Carlos Gomez Gold Glove Bobbleheads at Miller Park, hope he's not serving a suspension that day. Wished I could go get one.

Could be a relation of Nyger Morgan! Coincidence that they both, at some point, played for the Brewers? I think not. Clubhouse of crazies.

He's saying just the opposite.

He also said Travis Snider caused the entire melee, so I'm guessing he was either talking out of his ass or has a terrible memory in both instances.

Was never a fan of his on the Mets, he continues to prove me right in not liking him.

4 players suspended for Brewers-Pirates incident on Sunday: Martin Maldonado 5 games, Carlos Gomez 3, Travis Snider 2, Russell Martin 1.

Not enough for Maldonado, should have been at least 10.

Considering Snider was the first one to "come off the bench" which caused the whole situation to escalate, I'd say he isn't that far off in his assessment.

I think Gomez should only get 1 or 2 games. Three games is pretty ridiculous considering Travis Snider was the one that REALLY escalated it into more than it should have been.

I'm okay with the other punishments they gave out. The only one I'd argue relates to Gomez. If you're gonna give Gomez three games, give Snider three games because, like I said, he's the one that incited it by coming off the bench and mouthing off something to Gomez that offended him. Otherwise, I'd say reduce Gomez's suspension to two games, the same as Snider's (since the decision on the suspensions has been made).
