Thomas trade

From the earliest age I can remember, I've wanted to be a hockey player. I've been blessed in my life to not only be able to live that dream, but to achieve more than I ever thought possible.

The singleminded focus that is necessary to accomplish a dream of this magnitude entails (by necessity) sacrifice in other areas and relationships in life.

At the age of 38, I believe it is time to put my time and energies into those areas and relationships that I have neglected. That is why at this time I feel the most important thing I can do in my life is to reconnect with the three F's.

Friends, Family, and Faith.

This is what I plan on doing over the course of the next year.

On top of this, I will continue to train using the ARP/POV system Evo Ultra Fit - Strength Rehab and Performace Training and work with G-Form Home - G-Form LLC in the development of protective equipment.

What does this portend for the future?

We'll see….God's will be done.

about his ability to come back in a year. I have a feeling he's either going to retire, or have great difficulty breaking back into the game. Either way, I wish the man the best of luck.

Didn't he move his family to Colorado halfway through the season this year? I think whether Thomas knows it himself or not, the retirement ball has been rolling since the Cup win. It was fun while it lasted, too bad no one gave him a chance until his 30's. Would have been fun to see what he could have done with a full 15+ year NHL career.

I will say this though: annoyed that people are calling Thomas crazy for, you know, taking his beliefs seriously. Just because he may be stepping back from hockey for his family and faith doesn't mean he's going to go insane. (This is more for the twitterverse than you guys)

Chia picks up the phone, calls up Snow, and Thomas is promptly traded to Long Island for "future considerations"...

Thomas refuses to report to the Isles (sound familiar??), Snow suspends him without pay.

Islanders get to count $5M against their cap to reach the floor without paying a dime, Boston frees up $5M of cap space and goes gunning hard on the free agent market.

I dont think this is allowed anymore

so switch that out with a 26th round draft pick and youre bang on ... not that there is a 26th round ... i mean a player that will never make it in the nhl
