2015 Duke signee tears ACL, will miss upcoming season | CollegeFootballTalk
In a press release, the football program announced thatZach Morris sustained a torn ACL in his right knee and, as a result, will miss the entire 2015 season. The school did not state how or where Morris suffered the injury.

Surgery was performed by the Blue Devils’ head team physician June 23. Barring a setback, Morris should be healthy enough to participate at least partially in spring practice next March/April.

Pitt got 3 first place votes? Narduzzi is a good coach but no one is that good.

Three-star 2015 Wake signee transfers to USF | CollegeFootballTalk
The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that Archibald has been granted a release from his Wake scholarship and will transfer to USF. No reason was given for the Florida native leaving the Demon Deacons and moving on to the Bulls.

Archibald, who enrolled early at Wake this year, will likely sit out the 2015 season as he sustained a broken ankle that prevented him from participating in spring practice with his now-former team.

Ex-Virginia WR Jamil Kamara finds new home at Cincinnati | CollegeFootballTalk
While the school has yet to announce his addition, Jamil Kamara took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to announce that he will be continuing his collegiate playing career with the Bearcats. The wide receiver’s announcement comes nearly two months after he went on social media to announce that he would be transferring from Virginia.

Kamara will be forced to sit out the 2015 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, but will then have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016.

UAB announces a 2017 return for football | CollegeFootballTalk
The university sent out a press release Tuesday announcing that the Blazers will resume playing football for the 2017 season. In the initial stages of the resurrection of the football program it was thought that the sport would return for the 2016 season, although that expedited timeline proved to be too daunting.

Additionally, the NCAA has informed UAB that, when the football Blazers take the field again, they’ll do so as an FBS member. They will also be immediately eligible for a bowl game as well as the Conference USA championship game.

That league has already stated it will hold a spot in the conference for UAB.

Pitts Rori Blair charged with DUI after being clocked doing 117 mph | CollegeFootballTalk
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Blair was charged March 15 with, among other things, driving under the influence. Blair was stopped by a Pennsylvania state trooper after he was clocked traveling at 117 mph in a 55-mph zone.

Following the stop, the criminal complaint read, the trooper “detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from his breath and about his person as he spoke along with blood-shot glassy eyes.” A subsequent blood test confirmed the presence of marijuana in the defensive end’s system.

In addition to the DUI, Blair was charged with driving at an unsafe speed as well as other traffic violations.

Report: TTs Kyle Heffron sustains serious injuries in car wreck | CollegeFootballTalk
Lubbock NBC affiliate KCBD is reporting Wednesday afternoon that long-snapper Kyle Heffron sustained serious injuries in a single-car accident earlier in the day. Police told the television station that Heffron was ejected from the white pickup truck he was driving after it slammed into an underpass.

There were no details available as to the exact nature of the injuries.

The good news, however, is that, per the station, Heffron is currently listed in satisfactory condition at a local hospital. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury was scheduled to appear along with other Big 12 coaches at the so-called “ESPN car wash” but was described as a late cancellation.
