Former five-star WR Tyron Johnson tweets he’s transferring from LSU

In a tweet posted to his Twitter account, Tyron Johnson announced that he will be transferring from the Tigers and continuing his collegiate playing career at an undetermined elsewhere. According to the wide receiver, he’s already been given a release from his LSU scholarship.

While the football program has yet to confirm it, SECCountry.com is reporting that C.J. McWilliams sustained a torn ACL earlier this week at practice. As a result, the cornerback will miss the entire 2016 season.

Utah’s Kyle Whittingham confirmed Thursday that Fakailoatonga sustained another torn ACL during a practice session earlier this week. It’s the same knee in which he sustained the injury last year that ended his 2015 season prematurely.

Suspended WR DeAndre McNeal to transfer from Texas

As part of the release, McNeal will be barred from transferring to another Big 12 program as well as 2016 opponents Notre Dame, UTEP and Cal.

Texas A&M and UCLA were finalists for McNeal last year, and will get consideration again this time around. He will have to sit out the 2016 season if he moves on to another FBS program.
