Ex-LSU QB Anthony Jennings lands at Louisiana-Lafayette

Louisiana-Lafayette announced via a release Thursday that Jennings has signed a grant-in-aid with the school and will finish his collegiate playing career with the Ragin’ Cajuns. As the quarterback moves on to UL-L as a graduate transfer, he’s immediately eligible to compete in 2016.

The latest with attrition at the position is Rutgers, with nj.com, citing a person familiar with the situation, reporting that Charles Scarff has decided to transfer from the Scarlet Knights. No reason was given for Scarff’s decision, although the position was described as a “logjam” in the article, an indication that the junior may be searching for a better opportunity at playing time.

Citing sources close to the team, The Oregonian is reporting that Caleb Smith is no longer with the team. “The sources would not comment on the reason for his departure from the roster and Smith did not immediately respond to a request for comment,” the newspaper wrote.

Mark Meyers, the school confirmed, has decided to leave the MSU football program and transfer elsewhere. Not only that, but the school confirmed the elsewhere — Miami of Ohio.

Groza Award watch lister Trent Domingue leaving LSU after scholarship wasn’t renewed

Exactly one week ago today, LSU’s Trent Domingue was one of 30 kickers named to the Lou Groza Award preseason watch list. On Wednesday, Domingue took to Twitter to reveal that he is leaving LSU because his scholarship wasn’t renewed.

Mich. St. player allegedly slapped by Draymond Green to transfer

Michigan head coach Mark Dantonio announced in a press release Wednesday night thatJermaine Edmondson has been granted a release from his scholarship and will transfer from Michigan State. The announcement came on the same day that a police report indicated Edmondson had been involved in an incident with former MSU hoops star and current Golden State Warrior Draymond Green, one in which Edmondson was allegedly slapped in the face and Green was charged with assault.

Pair of Hogs decide to transfer from Arkansas

Per Bielema, senior wide receiver Eric Hawkins and sophomore defensive back Willie Sykes have decided to transfer out of the Razorbacks football program. The coach indicated that Hawkins’ decision was based on a desire for a better opportunity at playing time, while some type of family/personal issue appears to have triggered Sykes’ move.

After multiple media outlets had reported it, nj.com confirmed through Pollock’s father that his son has decided to transfer away from Chris Ash‘s football program. Pollock had committed to former head coach Kyle Flood, and remained committed after a conversation with Flood’s replacement, Chris Ash.

Former Buckeye, Gopher lineman moves on to Cyclones

State football program. Bobek’s father subsequently confirmed the move to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The offensive lineman will join the Cyclones as a walk-on and be eligible to play immediately in 2016, which will be his sixth season of eligibility.

Cal loses veteran safety Griffin Piatt to medical retirement

While he was relatively injury-free this past season, he underwent another surgery earlier this offseason on the same knee yet again. The issue simply didn’t improve enough for Piatt, who has opted to take a medical retirement and move on from the sport.

Found guilty of aggravated r*pe in April, a former Vanderbilt football received his sentence earlier Friday.

According to the Associated Press, Cory Batey was sentenced by a criminal judge to 15 years in prison for the on-campus r*pe of an unconscious female student three years ago. Batey could’ve faced up to 25 years in prison as a result of the conviction.
