FSU, WVU closing in on agreement to open 2020 season in Atlanta

Mike Casazza of the Charleston Gazette-Mail was the first to report that West Virginia and Florida State are in talks for a game that would open the 2020 season, and that the two sides were close to finishing the deal. ESPN.com‘s Brett McMurphysubsequently confirmed that report.

The game, which would be the latest iteration in the long-running Chick-fil-A Kickoff series, would be played Sept. 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Car accident will likely sideline Texas RB Roderick Bernard for all of 2016

According to a tweet from Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman, the high school coach of Texas’ Roderick Bernard confirmed that his former player was injured in a car accident earlier this month. As a result, the coach expects Bernard to miss the entire 2016 season.

There were no details as to the nature of the injuries sustained by Bernard, nor has UT addressed the player’s status moving forward.
