PC on 710 this morning: "The NFL came back and said the calls against Phillip Adams and Tharold Simon were not penalties." Cant remember the Adams play but obviously the Simon one stood out. Hopefully this issue is cleaned up by the time the season started.

Heard on ESPN today that of all the flags (around 100) that Seattle has only been called four times for the LOB rule and of the four none where the starting LOB. Which how I felt, that most teams where suffering from the new enforcement than gaining off it from us. (it looked like Denver seemed to get a flag per snap :L)

Yup, lets share some of that attention the Seahawks were receiving last year.

I would have to re-watch the two games to verify, but my perception is that our starting CBs have played a bit softer coverage so far. I could be wrong, but early in the Denver game it just felt like we gave DT more room than normal.

That's encouraging there looking at it...

34 flags a game on average.... :L :L :L

I believe these flags will drop by the final preseason game. If the NFL continues to avg 34 flags a game, the flow of the game becomes stale and viewers will move onto something else. Love the NFL, but a penalty filled game makes me change the channel.

Its preseason for everyone, including the refs. I would not be surprised if they had direction from the league to call anything that MAY be a penalty to them. That will give refs practice with communicating with each other and give good game tape for the league to review what should and shouldn't be flags so they can then communicate that information (with video) to the officiating crews AND the teams
