Tom, thank you for the football thread. I needed one of those.

I found the article to have valid, quantitative points. TA's numbers are not pretty. Just think if the defense did not tell the coaches what they wanted to do in the Northwestern game, TA would probably be on the hot seat because of those numbers.

I look forward to the QB Spring Game competition and I hope there is one. I do like how Nebraska is getting QBs from Texas, Florida, and California and they all won State Titles.

As we all know, it is always good to have a capable backup QB in case #1 goes down.

While I find myself hoping Stanton wins the job, just because I've liked him since seeing him in the Elite 11 competition (both as a QB and just as a person in general in interviews and the like), I'm hesitant to put too much weight on Armstrong's stats. What I think we need to remember is we don't even have stats for Stanton. There's a big difference between doing it in practice and doing it on Saturdays in front of 90k people vs. an opposing defense.

When you put Tommy's prep tape next to Johnny's, I pick Tommy. Then you see Stanton compete against QB's who are considered the best pro-style QB's in the country and he destroys them.

He would have won that elite 11 comp if he wasn't committed to his team's 7 on 7 tourney.

Him and Tommy are honestly both ideal Nebraska QB's.
