Looking at your Green Bay avi, I find it funny that nobody in NE remembers the Green Bay New England Superbowl in 1996.
Went right over their heads!

Of course we remember.

Don't kick to Desmond Howard, don't kick to Desmond Howard, don't kick to...fuck it, kick it to Desmond they'll never expect it.

I remember two plays, the KO return and the Bledsoe pick. Other than that, NE seemed to play better than Green Bay.

But turnovers...
Play I remember most in that game was Favre’s TD pass to Andre Rison and celebrating running back to the sideline with his helmet raised in the air and the biggest grin; looked like a kid just having fun out there

As a football fan, Favre was great.

That's one to forget against the Bears. I left it out. No sense in making anyone recall that debacle.
And the Chargers championship game was better? I don't remember a playoff run that didn't finish with a win better than the 85 run.

85 Patriots were so overmatched in the SB mainly because the team was beat up after a tough playoff stretch.
Half the team went into surgery after the SB game.....

Name 1 (hint: re-read my comment)
The '85 playoff run ended in a humiliating defeat against the Bears.

I referred to six playoff runs (2001,2003, 2004, 2014, 2016 & 2019) that ended in Super Bowl Championships. All better than their 5 SB Losses.

Let's just agree to disagree. I personally like winning more than losing.

Championship losses: 1985(Bears), 1997(Packers), 2007(Giants), 2011(Giants). 2017(Eagles)

We can't agree to disagree since I stated playoff runs that ended with a loss and you presented six that did not end with losses.

It was the half-time adjustment GB did. They got us with our pants down, and well Pats were in that game until that.

Giants were very solid as a team back then. Remember the 38-35 shootout, some score like that in last game if season only to lose the big one. Giants D …
We lost to Eli friggen Manning and Tyree who was never heard from again. This wasn't a loss to PayAton Manning it was friggen Eli Manning.

I take those two losses harder than any sporting event loss.

No, we lost to that more stubborn than BB coach, Coughlin who’s nose was freezing close to frozen in the playoffs to get there. IIRC there was a gruesome game in GB, to get to the big game.

Maybe you should have phrased it:

Getting slaughtered by the Bears in '85 was the most appealing of all the losses to you. OR the least frustrating to you.

Personally, I saw no redeeming value in that game.

The 1985 New England Patriots season was the franchise's 16th season in the National Football League (NFL) and 26th overall. The Patriots had a record of eleven wins and five losses and finished third in the AFC East Division. They then became the first team in NFL history ever to advance to the Super Bowl by winning three playoff games on the road, defeating the New York Jets 26–14 in the AFC Wild Card Game, the Los Angeles Raiders 27–20 in the AFC Divisional Game and the Miami Dolphins 31–14 in the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots' win in Miami was their first victory at the Miami Orange Bowl since 1966 and while they did defeat Miami on the road in 1969 that game was played in Tampa Bay. The win over the Dolphins in the game has gone down as one of the greatest upsets in NFL history, as the Dolphins were heavily favored.[3]

But despite the Patriots' success in the playoffs, they proved unable to compete with the acclaimed 15–1 Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XX, losing 46–10 in what was at the time the most lopsided defeat in Super Bowl history. The Patriots were held to a Super Bowl record of just 7 rushing yards and their quarterbacks, Tony Eason and Steve Grogan, were sacked a combined 7 times by the powerful Bears defense.

I see his point.

It's a lot easier to deal with a loss when they are 15-1 underdogs against one of the most dominant defenses in history, even to this day then it is to look at 2007.

I said playoff run. Not single game. It was based on me living it and the feelings of those around me, which were a lot of people since I was in college.
