That ‘apology’ looked worse than his responses at the press conference. It was just another response written for him to try and save face. They should have just owned it and went with the ‘Meyer isn’t convinced she was assaulted’, at least that’d be believable.

If you read what was released, Urban did not apologize to Courtney because she was abused.

"I'm sorry for what and your children have gone through"

is not close to the same thing as

"I'm sorry I didn't stop your alleged abuser"

It’s not a mob, it’s called basic human decency. The only reason it took so long is Meyer was fighting even a slap on the wrist. He is one of the worst people in the human race, much less the sport.

As usual most of you are making too much out of that apology. He clearly doesn't think she was abused, at least to the degree she claims, but his answer at the press conference made it look like he wasn't sensitive toward abuse victims in general. This apology was really to shape that view IMO.

I really doubt he was told to do that. He's just not good with words on these things. I think he really does care about treating women with respect, but his relationship with Zach's grandfather seriously clouded his judgement.

He's no saint, but he's not the devil either. He's just a football guy, not a public speaker.

Abigail Wexner. She threatened to pull their donations (so far in the hundreds of millions). Many board members do business with L Brands. She got so frustrated that she could not sway the board that she walked out at 2:02 PM. Story is she acted like a petulant child. Many people find it ironic that she was so upset about this, given her husband is a billionaire selling clothes that further the exploitation of women.

It got so bad that Clark Kellogg actually walked out to his car, grabbed a book and went back in and read while they fought it out.

Les Wexner (Abigail's Husband) came in later and convinced Urban to take a 3 game suspension or they might still be there arguing.
