Unfortunately winning more GS titles at only RG late in his career only points to the flaw in Nadal’s career. 12/18 Alam titles on clay. 67% of his slams are on clay screams clay court specialist more than anything else.

No, he's not, he's in the top 10, maybe even top 5 but he's not top 3 all time.

He did win the US Open in 2017.

Yeah, I wish they'd use Shot Spot on clay. No clay events use it, because they claim you can see the mark.

I always wonder though, what if multiple balls in the same point land on almost the same spot? How can you tell which one is which?

Federer vs. Nadal: I thought Federer played Nadal as well on clay, through the first two sets, as he had when compared to most of their matches on clay. There were really windy conditions. I thought Federer's backhand was much better through the first two sets, against Nadal, compared to most past matchups on clay.

After the match, Federer said that he just hoped to get the ball in, and any game plan was tossed out the window due to the difficult windy conditions.

It's unfortunate that the two times he broke, he got broken right back. But Nadal does lead the tour with 37% of games re-broken after getting broken himself.

In the 3rd set, Nadal was just too good.

Ladies Finals: I didn't see those players making a deep run either. I wish it would have been a more competitive Finals, but on that day, Barty was just better.

Men's Finals: Thiem did as well as anyone has against Nadal, through the first two sets. The last two, Nadal was too difficult.

Nadal looks as good as ever in winning his 12th Roland Garros. He looks as good as he did when he won his first.

Wawrinka vs. Federer was also a tight match.

Djokovic's serving also seemed to be a little shaky again, like it has a few times in his career (most notably 2010). It's not that bad, but I thought he had fixed it for good.
