You know just as well as I do that the team was going to give him 130+ games as the DH with everyone healthy. That doesn't sound like a backup to me....

I know..... I guess we both have different assumptions about next year. I think if he manages to stay on the team they will trot him out there as DH again. I wouldn't mind seeing him as a reserve, but he shouldn't be in the lineup as much as they were playing him this year.

I'm sure he'd be confident he could play 1st. We are going to let Adduci play 1st and he's never done it. He's an IF. He can pick it up. Like I said I'm all for watching him learn and see if his bat translates then watch Murphy at 1st.

And I expect it to be ugly with Adduci or Rua in there at 1B

And Adduci has 54 games at 1B in his minor league career rookie ball to AAA, and 4 ML games
