Yesterday, the Jazz made a series of moves specifically aimed at the upcoming offseason:
1) They signed Chris Johnson and Jack Cooley to the same kind of multi-year deal they gave to Millsap and more recently to Bryce Cotton.
2) They waived Ian Clark.
The timing of these moves is significant because they happened 91 days before the draft. Players signing these kinds of deals can't be traded until 90 days after they've signed.
What does it mean? Between Booker, Cooley, Johnson, Millsap and Cotton (the Fodder Five if you will) the Jazz now have almost $9M in non-guaranteed deals they can use in trades as soon as draft day.
