Check Jackie Robinson West's roster. They're pretty stacked. So do you think they may have a chance there? Or am I being too optimistic?

ive said this all offseason
clay is going to have a career year
hes 30, tons of ? marks..and hes a FA after the season. he watched lester rake in the dough...if he turns in a solid to great year, he may too.
there should be less 'pussy' in the guy this year.
overall? the rotation to me is ok...not great, ok.
the pen?
absolute disaster...its going to kill this team.
It always keeps Cards-Cubs ticket prices high, too, except for the obvious reason being a rival and all. Unless somehow the Cubs are threatening to win the division, Ill watch my Cards-Cubs on ESPN or FoxMidwest and Ill buy tickets to something cheap like Cards-BravesA Cub bubble?
Bettors putting heavy cash on Chicago Cubs in Las Vegas
A couple of excerpts that made me snicker:
"The Chicago Cubs are a longtime running joke among Las Vegas bookmakers: "You know how many casinos have been built on bets on the Cubs to win the World Series?""
""Every year, they bet the Cubs," Jeff Stoneback, assistant manager at MGM race and sports. "I could be their ace and you could be their No. 2 starter, and they'd still bet them.""
Personally, I don't claim that the Cubs won't win the S this year. I am not betting on that to happen, however.

i just think he has so much to make or lose based on this year...and outside of things he cant control...its all on him.I drafted Buttholz to my fantast team last night based on your assessment.
Actually, I've had him a bunch over the years. Besides occasionally being an amazing pitcher, his name is also great for innuendo fantasy team names such as I Fielder Buchholz.
A Cub bubble?

I think it's just fun to have out there. There's a convention I go to in Vegas every spring and I usually put $50 on the Indians to win the World Series.
I can see that.
After last year's playoffs, I dont think I could ever bet on a favorite winning the World Series

Every playoffs is different, too. Last year was all about relief pitching and late rallies. The year before was all about pitching as a whole and really low averages. Its also impossible to predict when a player is going to have a historic performance, too. Ive lost so much vcash on this board because the Cardinals have been good but not good enough to win a WS the past two yearsLast year was particularly crazy, though. The two teams that made the World Series weren't even the best teams in their divisions.
