Exactly why I don't know why Rose is there and why I don't want Birke or Hayward there or Exum on the Austrailian team. If injury happens in Jazz practices or games, sobeit. Playing on Team USA is not like the military where I see the same honor. Stay in shape but also healthy. Team USA only guarantees one of those. I would sacrifice the little shapewise you gain for no injuries. Yes, I know people get injured otherwise and hit by buses.

These same players could have easily gotten injured playing pick up games.

Michael Jordan got his ribs broken one summer during a pick-up game.

It's not like these guys aren't playing at all if they're not playing for Team USA or another country. They're still playing.

It might even be less physical under sanctioned games because the refs call games tighter than an typical practice or pick-up game.

I want Burke and Exum to play on their international teams. Those games are fun to watch and it's good to see how they play with different teams and systems. They can expand their awareness and understanding of the game.

Well, if Hayward isn't going to play, then I guess nevermind. Injuries are just as likely if not more likely in practice, but practice can have some benefits over personal workouts. Just play smart and stretch.
