Was that a good block by the defender? Or did Poole hesitate too long in indecision?

What exactly did Poole do wrong? He he had shot it instead of taking another step and driving it, he might have missed anyways.

So maybe he was trying for a closer shot.

Here's also additional commentary:

I was kind of hoping the PA was going to get the ball unstuck, so the contestant could resume shooting.

Nothing happened, so the opposing contestant got unpressured FT line area or so attempts, until he made one.

Some of the pressure could have come if both contestants were attempting shots, at the same time. Because it was the first to make the next shot, to determine the winner.
