There's a little pub a couple of blocks from me that has all the pools. I usually watch the first half there (I work on Sunday's and it's next to the rail road stop) and then watch the 2nd half home. If you're in the $300 a box pool it's open bar for the first half and they put out a nice spread. Plus, the folks who win the first and 2nd quarters in the pools tend to by rounds.

I recall you saying that before as reason you go out.

Just too much effort for me.... I'd have to get all gussied up and it's much more comfortable in my sweats in front of the fireplace.

That's what I like about that pub, everyone dresses like they're watching the game in their basement. If it was 2 blocks in the other direction from the station I'd probably never go there.

Never got into Prince.

Tried to watch Purple Rain 3 times and bailed every time.

People don't love Prince because of his movies. Just try listening to the best albums: 1999, Purple Rain, Sign of the Times.

People say this about a lot of musicians, but in his case it's true: Prince was a musical genius

I was never a big Prince fan but when they were doing the tribute to George Harrison at the R N R Hall of Fame and Prince played the solo during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" I couldn't believe how brilliant he was. The movie Purple Rain had some of the worst acting in history but the concert scenes were pretty damn good.

Yep. His genre of music wasn't to my taste when I was in my teens and I never really noticed how good of a musician he was. As I got older I began to appreciate just how good he was.

This is exactly right. That clip went viral, even the other musicians were watching him with their jaws dropped.

Dude could shred like Hendrix, dance like James Brown, sing like Otis Redding, and played every freaking instrument on his albums that he wrote and produced by himself.

I was really bummed when he died.
