I think the Devils are in a bit of trouble here. Couldn't get Brodeur locked up and he hires an agent for the first time in 15 years tells me they don't have the money - Parise and Salvador are as good as gone to me. Looks like that NY Post story had some legs to it after all...

Just curious, aside from wishful thinking, what makes you think Parise is as good as gone?

I think that both Marty and Parise hit the market, but I also think both guys will give NJ a shot to make a better offer or match it.

The NY Post hates the Devils to begin with. I don't think there will be an issue with money in regards to bringing Parise and Brodeur back. If they want to leave it will be because they really wanted to leave not because of something the Devils failed to provide.

The only thing I've read in regards to financials is that they'll have a self-imposed budget for the year. Not unusual really, many teams have self-imposed caps.

COL agrees to terms with Steve Downie on 2 year deal, $2.55M in first year and $2.75M in second. $2.65M AAV.

Mike Santorelli and Matt Bradley, both of FLA, clear waivers. Bradley can now be bought out
