morning coffee for Dash

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle
Flames re-sign Cory Sarich for two years at $2-million a season. Had a solid year and that's a reasonable price.

Wheres my coffee?

I'm not sure that happens. The guy is a god in Jersey. There's no reason to screw that up.

agree 100%. I wonder how long he's gone without having an agent. I guess he has never really needed one.

Why not just go with a 1 year deal at the same price as last year? It sounds like he could save 5-10%.

answers my question

Larry Brooks ‏@NYP_Brooksie
Believe it's first time Brodeur has had agent since firing Gilles Lupien after fiasco at start of 95-96 when he walked in and did own deal.

nice cap but 1 year sucks. I can see why Rask did it from his point of view he has more to gain. Boston would want to lock him up for 2 or 3 at least.

I have so much respect for him though. He could have easily stuck it to us in the position we are in. Yet he took a very humble contract offering.

its going to be interesting to watch him. he's very good. I can't believe the Leafs gave him up for Andrew Raycroft (who actually played quite well for Vancouver when he was here)

I guess that means I get to make fun of him for two more years...It's much better than him making 3.6 million a season.

That leaves 3 healthy scratch d-men. Hmm...

I think most teams like to carry at least 8 defensemen due to injuries...Something also tells me that crazy wheeler dealer Feaster isn't done making moves either.

I would assume so. I would think seven would be the prime number (six dressed and one healthy scratch). That leaves room for two scratched forwards. I dunno...

Not a signing yet, but apparently Georges Laraque is serious about making a comeback and the Oil could be interested...

well at least he breaks the mold of their other players (speedy and small).
