The only thing that I don't understand, if mike leaked the story, was why now? Why accelerate the issue? You had 4 games left and things weren't looking good anyway. He could have leaked it after the season, he could have benched RG3, he could have done a couple of things to ensure his dismissal without stooping to these levels.

Hmmm... let's think about it. I can think of several reasons - 1. The Texans job just opened up & Shanahan probably considers himself and/or Kyle candidates so why not get a jump on everyone else 2. You just came off probably your worst coaching job in ages & 3. A lot of your players appear to be mailing it in & the pressure & other factors are making the situation miserable.

My counter would be - if this is true - why didn't we hear about this earlier? Say what you want about everyone else I totally don't trust Shanahan & (while I appreciate some things he did earlier in his tenure) I completely resent him at this time since he appears to not give a crap about the Redskins nor any of us fans. Good riddance!

If what you say is true (and its the only explanation I can think of) then he does need to be shown the door immediately. I don't care what RG3 did with Snyder, this isn't how a mature person handles the situation. He clearly doesn't have the best interest of the organization in mind anymore. Wait until all the cameras show up for the morning and then have security give him the perp walk out of the building. We will send your crap to you.

Adam Schefter states on 980 that Shanny very much DID want to quit last year ( the timing of before vs after Seattle was not known by Adam - he said he knew only macro events ) and Danny was definitely aware of this.


So a least 1 fact in the article is being confirmed by a credible additional source.
