Amazing how fast age kicks in. Not sure he has another come back in him but I would not bet against it.

I suspect he'll still be decent. I think he'll do better on hard courts.

Can you remember anyone returning from a long injury before Wimbledon, and then winning it?

Seems like it's happened at the other majors. I can't remember a Wimbledon example. I'm looking for an example where someone missed most or all of the clay season, including the French Open.

Hard to win on grass with a lower injury. The play is so fast that it is almost impossible.

I think people usually do better on hard courts when they are toward the end where they can count on a true bounce from the surface. Both grass and clay offer uneven bounces.
As examples, Pete, Fed, Edberg, Becker won their last slams on hard courts among prolific slam winners. Djoko also won his last slam at the USO in 2023. Who knows where his form is now but I would bet on him more winning at USO or even better at the AO in 2025 as his last slam ( where he won his first slam) than Wimbledon 2024.
