Heaney eventually gets a crack at the closer job. Just thinking Dunning follows after Perez as a guy that generates a crap ton of groundball outs while limiting damage. Think he becomes the de facto #3 behind deGrom and Perez, even surpassing Eovaldi.

Not sure about that especially Heaney as closer. Until Heaney falls apart which could happen he pitches every 5th game. Now if someone goes on the DL then Dunning or Ragans can step in and I feel good about both of them. Having a long reliever tonight was a big deal.
