Monday, June 10: Off day

The road has been long, and frustrating, and hasn't always played out the way I'd have liked it to.
But I've resumed baseball activities.
Twenty-five dry swings. Twenty ground balls hit right at me.
You wish that they were wet swings, that the balls were hit several feet to the right and to the left.
But it is what it is.
This is a deliberate process. We can't afford any more setbacks, any more injuries. Not when we're getting so close.
We're even taking my visualizations slower this time. No World Series parade down the Canyon of Heroes. I'm only allowed to close my eyes and imagine myself in the locker room after clinching the ALDS, confiscating all the champagne bottles and swimming goggles, reminding everybody that we haven't accomplished anything yet.
Maybe I pushed it a bit there. I may have let the guys in my mind-clubhouse spray a little Moët around.
Just this once.

:laugh3:

James Shields for Ben Revere ...... except I want Shields to be an everyday player for the phillies. I have no doubt he'd be their best hitter at this point

Shields wants to win, so he'll be staying in KC

Thanks for the offer though

Did the NBA Owners collude against the coaches too?

some talk that he might not want to stick around for a rebuilding project

not sure how that would work with his contract, if they would let him out of it

but ya never know

Im still baffled that Billy King actually got another GM job to begin with

He set the sixers back 30 years .... only 20 to go !!!!!!!!

He's getting exposed because the game they need him to play is not his game

the guy is a very good player, just cant have him there when you have nobody to bang down low on either side of the court

Woe is him

The team needs their 6'10" PF/C/whatever to do things like "box out", "play physical D", "not get beaten on the boards by guys 4 inches shorter" and other things that are commonplace among all big men, let alone "HOF lock" in his prime

If being asked to do things other than just "hit open 15 foot J's when LeBron is quadruple teamed" is too much to ask of him, that kind of confirms what we're saying

You do know he started for WMB last night, right?

Your next post on the Yankees loss last night, will be your first.

Yes, and he got a hit... something Middlebrooks hasn't had since Eisenhower was in office.

Your love affair with that scrub is laughable. But please continue.

Kidd and the Nets are discussing a three-year contract and an announcement could come later this week, the Inquirer reported. It would be Kidd's first head-coaching job at any level after deciding to retire from the game after this past season.

PG's, like catchers in baseball, are great to run teams

but NOT fresh off the court

they need to be seasoned under someone for a while

this wont go well

First, Im not one of the diks that called him an HOF'er ...

But yes you're wrong. You dont blame guys who arent playing well because theyre being asked to do things that they arent as good at. Ive seen it time and time again and most times the people who are saying it get proven wrong. The last one was Dirk ... look how it worked for him when they surrounded him with some bruisers
