UW looked very good, but the truth is, Stanford never showed up. After escaping in LA last week and the "game" last night, it is obvious that Stanford was never a top ten team.

I pointed it out all summer that Stanford had lost so much talent to the draft and grad that while they still would be one of the quality teams of the PAC, they simply couldn't be as dominate as they were last year. Every couple years, they have a rebuild season like this. We simplely caught um at the right time, right place, while our team was loaded and finally ready to match up with their power game.

Yes, I'm shocked at what a ass kicking it ended up being, but not entirely considering how much more they've depended on McCaffrey to do it all on offense this year and what our defense is capable of.

Stanford has a winning formula in place and they'll be competing in the top tier of the PAC for years to come.

That being said, the Huskies made a statement last night. The preseason ranking and a lot of the hype was justified. I still think the PACs chances of getting to the playoffs this year is diminished due to a not so great OOC SOS for most of our teams and we'd need to consistently keep 4-5 teams ranked to boost the SOS as well and that hasn't happened. If the Huskies remain undefeated and win the PAC champ game, we'd have a legit argument for a playoff slot, but there is plenty of big games coming up for us that we could lose.

Playoffs??? Not something I lose sleep over. For me, I'll always want the Rose bowl. Call me a traditionalist.

I'm glad I DVR'd the game last night. We were out and so I wasn't able to watch it, but I was shocked when I saw the score.

I'll also admit I wasn't buying into the UW hype - You can even read so in my Pac 12 Preview, but congrats to all the Huskies here...that was an impressive scoreline there.

This is why not having more 12:30 games really sucks. If the only early game isn't competitive you have no other Pac12 game to watch for hours. Just fucking blows.

Losing 14-10 in the second isn't really getting 'it' taken to no?

No, but when I flipped it on it was 14-3 with a few minutes left. Utah scored shortly after.

Oh, that makes sense.

I'm watching Bama-Kentucky with that on my last, so when I flipped, it was close.

Utah's driving, if they score it could make for a fun ending.

Im conceding. I really didnt see how Oregons defense could be worse than last year. How they could be worse than 116th. I wasnt expecting top 25 or even top 50. but I could see how they could have moved up a bit maybe 75ish. but no this defense is clearly on its way to last place in all FBS.

I called the slide right the last two years, but no one saw this much of a fall this season.

Looks like you have the next QB in Herbert coming up next year, but man oh man do they have issues on defense.

After Pellums first season at D coordinator I knew last year was gonna be bad. losing as much as they did and changing schemes is what you guys were saying was gonna do Oregon's D in. but like i was saying I thought while yes this year was going to be tough on D I just didnt see them being as bad as last year because last year was so bad.
At this point I would rather struggle with Herbert at QB and let him get experience. Prukop looked ok up to tonight. tonight he looked scared and just made horrible decisions.
